I need help

I made the mistake as a first time seller , I was in desperate need of money so listed my Gaming setup on here , got this guy in my inbox interested about it , my world was absolute chaos so I didn’t do my due diligence , I ended up shipping the item to him before payment and now i’m being extorted out of more money and theyre trying to harass me into giving up my identity. Does anyone know what to do because if I don’t manage to get it back soon I will be left on the street as I already am sleeping in my car because of this. Desperately in need of help on what to do.

The thing I also forgot to mention was that I was never paid in the first place and the guy is contacting me both over the phone and through a fake ebay email.

Sorry to hear this happened but you got scammed. Tough lesson to learn as now you are out the item and the money. If you can intercept the package before it gets delivered you MIGHT get that back.

You're sleeping in your car because of eBay?  I'm not buying any of this.

"now i’m being extorted out of more money and theyre trying to harass me into giving up my identity."

You do have to give up your identity to eBay with a SS# and checking account to get paid.  Not that it matters if you shipped before payment.  You will still owe fees to eBay.  They are not a public utility.

You shipped and the buyer had not paid?

I see no current or sold listings for you on this ID.

When did this happen?

Block and ignore, both ebay and your phone.   Sorry for your situation.

Sounds like your dilemma might be better handled by your local law enforcement - cyber crimes.

Best of luck to you.

Sounds like another Good reason to keep all sales transactions and communications on eBay.

If you list it on eBay, keep it on eBay.

It looks like you did this outside of eBay, unfortunately, not much help from us, other than what was posted regarding local authorities. If the item is still in transit, certainly best to do a package intercept, it cost around $15 or so. Other thing is to check your accounts, because if you did this outside of eBay, and the scammer may have gotten a hold of your financial account they can do bad stuff.

Perhaps explain to us step by step what was done, that you reached this point. Also, and not that I'm saying anything, but at the very least you know where the package is going.

You got scammed.

Ebay can do nothing for you. You are out the item.

as for harassing you any device you have been using run virus and any spyware you can;

Any information you have given out compromised you as well.

Stop all contact with such scammers.

Any contact with a so called customer service you may have used that was found with an internet search was most likly also a scam.

I suspect you are already compromised and your devices as well. Pay attention to any account info you may have given out..

I didn’t do this off ebay , most messages initially were passed through the ebay messaging system it’s just that it was taking too long / was inefficient so i later communicated over text

Well, you are not learning from your mistakes when you turn right around and offer to send another stranger your mobile phone number....
