A while back I sold an iPhone 7 Plus for $300. Promptly I packaged it up and shipped it out. It was going to Miami Florida and I’m pretty sure it was at the final facility. It departed at 1:25 AM and was never seen again. The item is still “in transit arriving late” after about 2 months but it’s really just lost. I didn’t pay for insurance when shipping but when I pay for them to ship it and they lose it that’s on them. I have opened several cases online with no reply. I have called the postmaster and the post office with no help. Now I am out of the money in the phone all because of stinkin USPS. Help please! Tracking

Tracking shows USPS hasn't received the package.
Status USPS Currently Awaiting Package
I'm afraid there is nothing we can do to help you.

Thanks for the response. I understand, I guess I just won’t be shipping with usps anymore!

You are welcome. I'm sorry this happened.

There is a chance that it will show up - it may just be on a world tour.
I once mailed a package from Santa Barbara to San Francisco. After a couple of weeks, the buyer wrote and asked about it. It was Priority and tracking wasn't shedding any light on it, so I went down to the post office and had them look on their system. Nothing was found past it hitting LAX. They advised waiting. That was okay with the buyer, so we waited a couple more weeks. Nothing. I refunded the buyer and we agreed that if it showed up, they would, at least, let me know. About 3 weeks later, it showed up at their home with a whole bunch of post marks on it, including Guam, El Centro, CA, London and Hawaii.
I was jealous - it got the Grand Tour for less than $10.00!

Haha that’s great! But in all seriousness the buyer flipped out on me and used some rather unprofessional words so the chance of them sending the money again if they do end up getting it is well... none 😞 but thanks for the reply and cool story!

It can happen with any carrier, and is thankfully rare.
Just insure next time - Shipsurance online has less expensive insurance and will cover one package at a time. You don’t need a membership.

You're welcome. It has happened to me a couple of times in the past 20 odd years, but, it is rare. Rare, too nowadays, is the buyer that takes it in stride. Just keep in mind that this too shall pass.

Glad to hear such thing is rare, and I will take the loss. But life goes on!

Sorry it is not on them, it is on you for not insuring it. Believe me the last 2 months the post office has lost dozens of my packages and no matter what you do all they will do is say we are sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused you. You always insure especially if the item is worth $40 or more unless you have no problem losing 300 bucks here and there. Luckily my packages are only around 10 bucks a piece but when they get to 30 bucks or more i insure all of them because the post office employees are some of the biggest thief's around. If they see an item is not insured they steal it especially if they think it is from ebay or an online store. Just myself i have had dozens within a 2 month period go lost and never found again. packages just do not go missing at that high rate, they get stolen by scum post office employees.

No offense to the nice usps employees but almost all usps workers are really just scum. Your right, no insurance means home sweet home for them. Especially in Miami Florida

Insurance would not have helped since USPS says they never received the package.

How do you see where usps says that my friend? Thanks
07-11-2019 01:15 AM
That is why i have every single package scanned at the post office at the counter every day that way they can never say they did not accept it. Never let the post office pick it up at your house and never just drop them off at post office because i know for a fact there are theft rings at the post office. ALWAYS have them scan them in at the counter and ALWAYS get a receipt. That will end the "Never received package" nonsense. As for those that get lost during transit they are stealing them for the most part, some get lost but not at the rate they do. I use ebay packaging and they see that and funny how when i used to use plain envelopes i never had any get lost, soon as i use ebay boxes and bags they get "LOST" like crazy. Always get a scan and a receipt at the counter and if they do not like it if you have a lot of packages you tell them that is too bad because i am a paying customer and i want a receipt.

From my first post:
Tracking shows USPS hasn't received the package.
Status USPS Currently Awaiting Package
I checked the tracking number at USPS.com.
