A while back I sold an iPhone 7 Plus for $300. Promptly I packaged it up and shipped it out. It was going to Miami Florida and I’m pretty sure it was at the final facility. It departed at 1:25 AM and was never seen again. The item is still “in transit arriving late” after about 2 months but it’s really just lost. I didn’t pay for insurance when shipping but when I pay for them to ship it and they lose it that’s on them. I have opened several cases online with no reply. I have called the postmaster and the post office with no help. Now I am out of the money in the phone all because of stinkin USPS. Help please! Tracking

Thanks for saying that! Miami post offices must be depressingly out of order. But I feel bad for the one hard working person that works there!

Do you have the same sort of problems receiving packages or only in sending them? If it works both ways it would indicate a problem in your area. If it is only on the shipping end of it, you probably need to make some changes.

Do you think I made it up? LOL!!!
Don't know - didn't speculate - just posted the same info that several others found. But I do find it uniquely strange that for 57 days (May 15 to July 11) the tracking status would be as you posted and suddenly got fixed in the wee hours of the morning of July 11.
Would have gone back and double checked the tracking status after another poster(s) reported significantly different information.

Unfortunately if you didn't insure the item then you will not be able to file a claim. I spent 32yrs. working for the Post Office. It's a great organization and very dependable but things do get lost or damaged occasionally (it's happened to me). If it's an ongoing thing though it's best to go to your local Post Office and speak to the Postmaster about filing a complaint with the Postal Inspectors. Other than that there's not a lot you can do other than asking for a refund of the postage for services not rendered...Good luck!

I also had USPS lose a package. Label Printed, Received by USPS and then nothing. I opened a claim and no one found anything.
Will I stop using them? No, they have great delivery service at a fairly cheap price. One mistake isn't the end of the world.

I’ve had issues receiving them too. ;(

Tears back the HUGE Atlanta distro center used to have regular monthly auctions of "undeliverable" items. Their delivery rate was APPALLING, making you wonder how hard they were actually TRYING to get the mail delivered. Just so happens, about the time they stopped doing the auctions, their delivery rate went sky high.
So there may well BE some incompetence or corruption at a few USPS locations but it can be addressed, though it takes a long time and many many many complaints.
Locally, we have a couple of POs that absolutely SUCK. It takes days for the mail to even leave one site to get in route, others the clerks couldn't answer a question correctly if their lives depended on it, and others cant deliver the mail to the right house in spite of GPS and frequent audits - causing us to get together with the neighbors and swap mail weekly or track down about half our mail that never gets delivered.
All that said though I have worked out my own system, learned which to avoid, which clerks to talk to, and the best days to mail. I still wont use FedEx or UPS but I CAN use UPS and MOST stuff EVENTUALLY gets where its going.

???? Not when I checked:
May 15, 2019 In Transit to Next Facility Your package is moving within the USPS network and is on track to be delivered to its
final destination. It is currently in transit to the next facility. May 11, 2019, 1:25 am Departed USPS Regional Facility MIAMI FL DISTRIBUTION CENTER ...
It looks to be lost or on walkabout. First Class Pkg, no insurance (says OP, the tracking detail, and the service type code in the tracking number).
Nothing more to be said. There is no help to be offered. It wasn't insured, was lost, and that's it.

Honestly, I think most of the time "undeliverable" packages are a function of the shipper, not USPS. I have shipped and received literally thousands of packages via USPS over the years and not a single one of them has gone missing.
However, when I was in the post office mailing a sale the other day, the lady in front of me had a box with an address handwritten on a piece of paper and then scotch-taped to the box around the edges of the paper. There's a good chance that's just going to rip right off in the shipping process, leaving the USPS with no idea of where to deliver/return the package.

USPS in Florida are staffed by complete idiots. In the future, take it to the post office and wait in line for a scan. If you ship more than one package, use the scan form that should be printed with the labels.
Hi @floridainjection does "First-Class Package Service - Retail" in the OP's tracking mean anything?
OP @hramuse_usa has anyone here mentioned "Doral" to you? Also, wondering what zipcode was on your label.

Shipsurance has paid immediately both times I’ve needed it - a $1000 item to England and a $500 box of hats to Australia.

For our eBay Sales we have shipped 1529 packages and a hundred or more packages for personal reasons. Only 2 every disappeared into the USPS "black hole" or "Bermuda Triangle". Two different shipments from Georgia on two different dates found their way to the Jamaica, NY Sort Facility for delivery to somewhere around NYC. The packages went in the facility but never came out - another friggin' unsolved mystery. Probably met the fate of poor ole Charley on that MTA re: Kingston Trio - 1959 - gotta' have a lot of experience behind ya' to know what that means - was 15 back then.
