Buyer files return (false SNAD that will cost me $10+ in return shipping) and I have no way of seeing if the ebay-issued mailing label has been used, n'est-ce pas?
I have to call ebay to determine that? Will CS even give me an answer? Of course what the the buyer complained about was clearly shown in photos and stated in the description - not a flaw; just something he didn't like. Best part was the trumpian end to the ranting message I received: BAD BUSINESS !
I can't find anything in the Return case other than: The buyer has until Jun 20 to ship the item back. Oh, and the really cute: You can give the buyer a refund now or wait for the item to arrive. <----Now that's BAD BUSINESS !
Upon my return last night from the island (a real one for the last week and none of us were poisoned), I also got a "nice" message from someone wanting to return a $400 widget.
Then I started reading here to get caught up and I am oh so weary already. Maybe I need another vacation....

Not a very nice welcome home, huh?
In my one and only experience with an Ebay return label, nothing showed until it was actually scanned. Then the tracking number showed up in the return area.

Ah oui, an excellent (sarcasm font) welcome back, mon ami sweet*tea. (I've heard nothing but Spanish for the last week so I'm in a French mood today).
The super special buyer hit me with this before we left so he's had over a week to return the item. Maybe it took him that long to find a printer for the mailing label (more sarcasm font).
I look at what I need to do to get back up and running at a speed that is worth the angst and effort. Not to mention 30+ days of board catch-up. Now I need to go look at my paypal account and be sure I left enough to cover the $400 return because, of course, I haven't sold anything in over a week and ebay took its fees during that time, too.

Hey! was wondering where you were? At least you didn't get: "Enemy of the People!" Do you think the Webster's Dictionary in the future will be adding "trumpian" in the near future? LOLOL. I can't help you with the return. But just wanted to check in and glad to see you are back. Always delightful replies...makes coming here to read worth it! Good luck, am sure someone more "advanced" than me will be along to hopefully give you some good advice...Oh, today is the 21st, so did you get the item back?

I finished Jim Acosta's book, "Enemy of the People," while lounging on the beach. As much as one can lounge with the Twin Terrors along for the week.
Buyer had until yesterday (June 20) to return the widget (use the label). I seem to somehow think that if that didn't happen, CS would close the case? if I called and got the ball rolling?
Most likely not, however, because then the buyer would be sad and we can't have that.

Great Book! And I saw live the WH press briefing...anyway, I think ? you should see the buyer's return "tracking number". But if you don't, I would call CS to have it closed in your favor...but again, am not the expert here lolol. Up to you to make the buyer "happy." lolol.

If you call then CS can close the return if the buyer hasn't shipped anything back yet. If you don't call the return will stay open for a long while.

Hi Sherry, I bet that island vaca was wonderful. I'm woefully behind and in need of one myself!
I would have the policy on hand to recite if needed in case you get one of the unlucky clueless reps. Hold ebay's feet to the fire on policy to close in your favor.
I think you can click on the details of the resolution center in seller hub, but it's been awhile since I had a return. There you should be able to see the tracking if it's been logged with movement.
The $400 return? It is what it is, might as well get that out of the way today too. Put them both behind you. Then you won't feel so exhausted! Then take the rest of the day off ebay! As for catching up a month's reading here? No way would I ever do that 😛

I don't plan to read everything here just skimming titles to determine if I have missed any fabbo seller-beneficial policies and/or updates.
Sometimes I just crack myself up ...

Welcome back! We have been holding the fort....
I will save you some time skimming the forums, No beneficial seller updates, just lots of "new and improved" changes (tongue in cheek). I can't wait for the summer update, maybe you will be up to speed by then!

I have always been successful (and mighty pleased with myself) calling CS to close a return case when the buyer hasn't uploaded return tracking by the drop-dead date.
If it was due to be shipped back by yesterday, call.

I think if you weren't here in awhile, you've been better off than the rest of us 🙂
One major event you may have missed was the amazing news from none other than Devin Wenig himself!
"eBay is off to a great start in 2019! We’re pleased with the way 2019 has begun! eBay's economic democracy empowers people and creates economic opportunity! I think it’s going to be a very exciting year, we’re really pleased with the way the year has started, we’re pleased with our plans, and we’re pleased that we’ve been able to continue to grow the customer base, which has been a very big priority, of mine, in particular."
The best part (you really don't want to miss this):
"What I’m really pleased about is that the seller satisfaction with the (Promoted Listing) program is amongst the highest that I’ve ever seen for a new program that eBay has launched"
Such thrilling news. Us sellers couldn't be happier with these promoted listings! Who doesn't love having to give customers higher prices and pay extra money for our items to be seen?!?! He's pleased, we're pleased, buyers are pleased, things couldn't be better!
Good thing all those "Seller Surveys" they've been sending us went to good use!
Oh, and I see you already got moderated! Another welcome back gift! 😛

bumpity bump bump bump
If I call and get this closed in my favor, i.e., buyer has not used mailing label yet, can the buyer leave negative feedback?
*If* I get a clear-thinking CS, negative feedback should be removed based on messages and the fact that, gee, buyer didn't follow the rules, but ...
I realize that negative feedback is meaningless (for) now but ... you know ...
Or should I just let this die a 30-day death and then call? In my last fiasco with a SNAD return, the $$$$ one, that buyer was given extended timeframes to start a return by both ebay and paypal.

Try to get it closed! If the rep doesn't want to follow policy then hang up on them and try again. (Nothing like giving them a bit of their own medicine).
Did you even get the items back on the $$$$? And did they all come back?

Nope, did not get items back. Buyer won on Try # 3, credit card. Although it's my understanding that the credit cards require the merchandise to be returned.
