Did you mean:

I just paid $56 for an ad fee on an item :)

I sold something around $650 that normally is a bit high at $575. I have several of these things that were all hitting the market at once and wanted to kind of have the high price stuff show up first through ad rates of 8-10%, not necessarily expecting those to sell, but to help the lower priced ones sell a bit better.

I wasn't expecting it to sell, but one did, but witht the $78 fee, $56 ad fee, it kind of wipes out any higher priced gains, but oh well.

I believe Ebay wants the ad stuff to sell first, so I'm acting accordingly.

Good to know eBay Ads are working for you. eBay only earns the additional Ad Fee on standard campaigns if your item sales - so yes "eBay wants the ad stuff to sell first".  eBay will let sellers set ad rates as high as 100%. eBay is not shy about looking after their best interest - as a seller you need to carefully look at the Ad Rates and make sure you are actually getting more sales and the additional cost is worth it and you are still making a profit

eBay is raising the minimum ad rate from 1% to 2%.  With the maximum ad rate at 100%, sellers can make sales and put themselves out of business at the same time (with eBay selling fees and ad fees totaling over 100% of the total selling price).

Not sure I understand..........you're complaining because a high priced item sold with a high price ad fee which you chose to list with?

A big problem I see is that many don't read descriptions; you stating some 'light bulbs' are not there, others may be old; you could be looking at a problem with a return when someone pays $700 for headlights and part of them don't work.

Potentially. The key thing on these is that the internal adjusters got replaced. The bulbs were all tested, but since they are changeable and I have no way of knowing how long they'll last, they are "courtesy includes". most people who have to remove a bumper to install a set of headlights are reasonably going to put brand new bulbs in for longevity. Hopefully the buyer understands the job and doesn't use the MBG when they realize they need to partially remove the bumper. It is going via FedEx Ground, which usually means to a shop, so they tend to know this.
