Did you mean:

I hope the new CEO gets rid of GTC and goes back to 30 day listings!

I really wish the new CEO gets rid of GTC and goes back to 3, 7, 10 and 30 day listings.  Some of us had more sales with it.  I know there are some who like it, but I wish that we had a choice again.

So sellers can go back to spamming the same listings over and over again hoping to fool buyers into thinking their items are fresh to the market? Too many people abused 30 day listings and now as a consequence they're gone.

Did you mean the short-duration listings?  We still have 30 day listings - GTC is just a string of 30 day listings.  I don't think sellers abused the short-duration listings, they simply used an option - the option wasn't the best for the site so it was discontinued for fixed price listings.  It's why they put an extra fee on the one-day and three-day listings - sellers were using this during the big free listing sales because, well, it was legal, but the daily churn was horrible for buyers (of which I was one during this time).

I agree that the short duration listings meant that the same old stuff just kept popping up and up and up.  I have items selling at all sorts of times between listing and the 30 day end/roll-over point and found that 30 day/GTC didn't cut my sales at all.  There's still auctions - useless for most things (if very good for others) but they can be listed with a BIN if the seller is willing to work with the 30% BIN up-pricing (which I think is too much). If anything, I think that BIN percentage needs to be lowered.
