I don't accept offers, but still get them every now and then via messages.
Had a headlight listed for $15, free shipping. Item description inside lower 48 only.
Had Priority chosen because there was no Ground Advantage when item was listed.
NEVER had anybody call me out on this...Until Today.
Get a message offering $10
I see buyer is in AK.
I say Sorry, Can't do that.
So, he buys it for $15
Rather than start an argument, I go ahead and package, make label, go with Ground Advantage since it's Alaska.
I really don't want this deal to cost me more than $15, and I'd sure like to accommodate the buyer. Even if the listing says I won't.
Sort of feel like I'm doing what I can to make it happen.
Get a message back from the buyer:
Calling me out on the Ground Advantage instead of Priority.
It was all I could do to keep "business composure" while attempting to explain why.
Then, I said to heck with it and cancelled the deal.
I really hate it when a customer gets under my skin that way.
Double whammy, 1st the insult offer and then whining about the shipping.
Looking forward to responding to an upcoming negative. LOL...Ugh

I can understand something big and/or heavy, but why wouldn't you ship a headlight to AK or HI?
I'll ship you an engine, without ever bothering You, or worrying You about it, IF I can figure out a way to get it done and still make money.
SHIPPING: Inside Cont US: Free
AK, HI, PR: Free if feasibly possible (some items are just too large)
International: Free through eBay's International Shipping Program (EIS)
We're not talking about a engine.
We're talking about a headlight.
You could have shipped it Priority Mail to AK or HI for about $2-$3 more than shipping it to CA.
But you're the boss.
