I got scammed as a seller any advice?

I recently sold a gift card on ebay and sent the gift card code through ebay email.    The next day I got an email from ebay saying that the buyer did not recognize the transaction and was disputing it through their payment method.   Later that day ebay sent me anther email saying that the "Buyers account was hacked"   not to do business with them.   Well the item was already sent through ebay email.     With the dispute I am trying to challenge it,  I sent them all emails, and even the positive feed back I was given.    Do you think I am just out of the money of the gift card or ebay really does try to help.   If they can help please someone tell me how.

I will never sell gift cards again and any thing I sell will be shipped.

Gift cards are super-easy scams ... the best course for selling a gift card is through one of the on-line brokers.

You have been here long enough to know better than to do what you did.

Your listing should have been pick-up only / pay then.

Generally speaking, to contest that sort of chargeback (aka Payment Dispute) you need online proof of delivery to the physical address provided to you with your payment.   Even then, if the card was used fraudulently (not by the account holder, or stolen card number for payment) you may lose a chargeback on eBay just the same.

Since you sent the codes in an email, you have no proof of delivery, and the card has likely been drained.  This would be the same even if you sent the physical card and the buyer claimed "not as described".   eBay protects eBay first and foremost, so it does not look good for you.

There is no protection against doing something which is predictably risky. It is not like there are no dishonest people in the gamer community.

If you had emailed the code but still mailed the physical card with tracking and it showed delivered then eBays seller protections would have covered this.

If it's only email then you will most likely lose and since you contested it that will be another $20 and loss of eBay fees.

@sextons-sweet-deals

Actually, that is what it said under "shipping".  However, it was electronically delivered anyway.

Looking at similar products under the category same category by other sellers

Electronics>Video Games & Consoles>Prepaid Gaming Cards

nave no eBay Money Back Guarantee.   Of course, that does not mean they are exempt from c.card chargebacks.  Just an interesting observation.

It's gone. Forget about it.

"not to do business with them"....coming from eBay...do not email the buyer...you could get into a serious position if you contact the buyer through eBay.

"challenge it"...you will still lose plus get charged an additional $20.+ by eBay.

To cover the $20 fee that the banks/cc companies take on to these chargebacks. This type of chargeback fee has been common since the 1980's.

It happens when a seller loses a Chargeback.  It has been in the rules since Ebay became our Money Processor.

When you list an item on ebay.com, the Chargeback Dispute fee is $20.00. If you accept the payment dispute and issue a refund, eBay will waive the Dispute fee, and you'll be responsible for the refund amount issued to your buyer.

Were you pre approved by Ebay to sell electronic gift cards?

My only advice to you is ... learn from your mistake and don't do it again.

Anyone who buys a gift card on eBay can claim the balance had already been used and get their money back. I would never sell a gift card on eBay.

Do you think I am just out of the money of the gift card

Yes.

I will never sell gift cards again and any thing I sell will be shipped.

Good, because what you did - electronically delivering the item - is against eBay policy anyway.
