Multiple platform listing

I recently sent (12) books to Amazon FBA and cross listed them in E-bay.  I had 2 sell on Amazon so far and on E-bay at the similar time frame.  I had to cancel the E-bay sales and I wonder if things have changed or are the duplicate sales coincidence or can I do this?

It is high risk behavior.

Those Ebay cancellations may cost you your Top Rated Status or leave you with little leeway for additional cancellations.

@convenientideasllc : Why did you have to cancel either of the eBay sales, and what reason did you select?

I notice you had a post in April of last year where you cancelled 5 listings (not clear if you were referring to unsold listings or actual cancelled purchases), but you really need to avoid those situations if at all possible.

I understand the serious nature of cancelling sales.  What is troubling is 2 sales on 2 platforms within a few minutes. Has anyone else had this issue. I have zeroed quantity on ebay and will sell ( hopefully ) on Amazon FBA.

Probably coincidence, but when cross listing it is very important to remove the Sold item as soon as possible, before doing anything else (like packaging the item or even finding it on the shelf) from the venue where it did not sell.

We used to sell on eBay, in our shop, on ZoS, on Bonanza, and on our own website, and it was the specific job of one employee to monitor the online sales so that would not happen. It still did from time to time.

I believe you get defects for cancelling sales.

If those items were glasses, cups or pieces of china, it is not surprising that someone would want more than the few pieces you offered and hit all of the online marketplaces, buying up all that were offered.

You are just behaving in a way that will at some point cost you dearly on this site.  You should only EVER list things on this site that you have inventory to cover it, whether it is shipped for Amazon FBA stock you own or not.  Never list the same inventory on multiple sites that you can't fulfill if you sold them all.

Here is a cautionary Tale.
