I get up around 5:30 am every morning and check my ebay for anything I need to ship. It used to take me as much as 3 hours to pack everything for shipping (not anymore it takes 20 minutes, if there is anything at all). About 2 weeks ago there was an offer for a 70 amp circuit breaker (a low offer) but I said WTH I'll just let it go. That was about 7am when I accepted the offer, by 8am the guy paid and within 15 minutes I packed it and tossed it in the mailbox before leaving for work. I got home around noon and found a message from the guy wanting to cancel. I messaged back that it was too late to cancel but, when he received it he could just send it back and I would give him a full refund. I never heard back from him. The other day I looked at my feedback and low and behold he gave me a Neg because I shipped too fast and could not honor his cancellation. It seems to be getting harder and harder to please anyone, I've been tossing stuff in the trash and listing other stuff cheap, I've also stopped buying. When everything is gone I'll be done here and I've been selling since around 2000 under 2 different accounts.

I got a Neg for doing the right thing
You have discovered one reason why I offer three day shipping, not same day.
IMHO shipping within minutes of payment is not necessarily "doing the right thing".

well you can't solve stupid. and this guy is an iddiot.....did you can ebay? and did they saty anything?...
Did you email him back that it was already mailed? and to return it...with a refund soon as it is sent...also offering to pay for the shipping ...being nice? ...showing you did all you could?..... ebay CS may see that the neg feedback is not a violation but maybe just not true because of the timing?
all you can do is ask....you could ask the buyer to again send back and you'll pay shipping....( after which he may change the feedback...don't ask -don't mention it, but offering ...at least is all you can do)===
it may not be "right" but see what the guy says.... But in the end, neg feedback is not worth worring about....reponding to feedback by a simple: was mailed before I could cancel transaction"...sometghing simple and [that would be that...no one is going to not buy because of that comment he made--in fact they may see it as a positive thing.....fast shippers are cool!

OP, you need to contact Ebay and get that Neg removed. No way should you be penalized with a neg for providing EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SUPER FAST SHIPPING.

Yes, your opinion, but mine is how in the world is fast shipping "doing the wrong thing?"

Why is it not the "right thing"?

I`m with Lucky on this one. I get an order and wait awhile to ship. I still have my handling set at one day and I take it. This sale cancellation thing seems to be getting out of hand on both buyer and seller sides. In many cases ebay is creating these cancellations due to them showing the buyer identical items cheaper after checkout. Many buyers don`t take into consideration that cheaper isn`t always better. Ebay should show accessories or similar items at checkout....not identical ones.
You might have a shot at getting the feedback removed depending on what CS rep you get on the phone. You weren`t required to cancel the buyers order. Here`s a link that might help:

Biographical, eBay related and an acceptable part of human discourse that can be glossed over by those easily bored by what they consider irrelevancies.
Wait until you're older and your younger relatives roll their eyes skyward and sigh heavily when you tell them something that happened to you and provide autobiographical context that you consider relevant but they don't.

As a buyer who doesn’t change my mind I would appreciate shipping within minutes and I think it being considered a bad thing a seller does this because a few wishy washy buyers change their mind is an absurd notion.
Even if I do think I need to cancel and the seller has already shipped. I’m not going to neg them and blame them. They seller even offered a full refund on return and still got negged. Why recommend we cater to the buyer like this instead of the good ones?

Seriously? What kind of question is this. If you don't understand why he mentioned his two accounts, then there was no reason for you to even be part of this conversation. What does your post have to do with anything and in what way was it useful info for the community?

I sometimes ship within an hour of purchase as my sales are sporadic and I want to minimise my trips to the post office. I understand the risk of a seller wanting to cancel but I reckon my savings on gas and time outweigh the risk of a cancellation. But if it is a pricier item or a heavier item with high postage then I do wait a full business day, a business day by my calculation and not Ebay's silly notion of a business day.
