Did you mean:

I clicked "WATCH" on 75 items, this is a game-changer and I'm not sure it's good. Or bad.

So, I've been (as a seller) sending out "Offers" for 2 weeks now as eBay shows me items that someone is watching. I got a few sales. Some were slightly more than if the watcher had just done a 'Make Offer'. So, that's cool, kinda. But it's one more chore to be mindful of as I monitor my eBay I.D.s constantly all day every day.

So, wondering what the potential buyer sees, I put a "Watch" on around 75 items in a very narrow category at nearly the same price.

I guess it streamlines it for buyers, they don't have as many clicks as "Make Offer".
What do all of you think of the new "Offer" feature????

Here are percentages I'm being offered;
32% off
8% off
15% off
18% off
17% off
9% off
17% off
10% off
10% off
17% off
17% off
6% off

Ha! Interesting timing you ask this. I just started doing it this past week after I received an offer on several items while I was actively searching and watching those items and I did buy on them!

So. In the past week I’ve sent a bunch of them, like you, to check it out. Like you, I had several buys and no complaints from anyone about receiving them.

HOWEVER, after the offers I have remaining time out, I likely won’t do it again. Why? Because I actually get a considerably bigger response when I just lower the dang price on the item to what I would’ve offered. I thought, wait a minute. If I’m willing to take $8 less from three watchers, why wouldn’t I just take $8 less from 30 viewers?

I mean, its a nice sort of marketing 101 innocuous sort of cute thing, but in terms of putting it to the marketing strategy test? Doesn’t make sense to me overall. If I’m willing to take $35 instead of $43 from anonymous watchers, why not take $35 instead of $43 from my known followers? That said, those who did take advantage of the offer were very appreciative, just as I was when I got them for things I was shopping for anyway; they had that 1% competitive edge in that moment for me.

Anyway, overall, I’ll do it every once in a while when it, I don’t know, feels right? But mostly, if I get the inkling to make an offer, I’ll just go in and lower my price. Great question!
