I recently shipped an item via fedex ground that was damaged using Ebay shipping and then. I filed a partial damage claim on line, using the tracking # created by them.
Yes I bought full value insurance for the item.
How do I check the status of that claim, if I am reading correct the only way is
through my fed ex account (which was not used for this item) and gets me no where.
I did get an email saying the claim was received and then another saying they
had made a decesion - and they are going to mail me something within the next 5 days letting me know what they did (good greif why not just tell me in the emai). So the email tells me nothing.
Is there any way to check the claim status on an item shipped fedex ground, through ebay? They said I could find out that way big hairy deal. Why the big secret anyway.

Perhaps there is claim number you can check online?
Or you can call them?

Claim # yes, able to check No, unless your the account -- since ebay shipping is the account it does not work -- this is what I am trying to find out.
I would not think that I am the first to have this issue.
Calling does not work, you just get someone that checks status - they will not tell
you what it is.

That's right! Ebay is shown as the sender. You might try searching this Board for a solution that has already been posted.

Had this experience and was on pins and needles waiting for an answer. I wondered why it was so "secret" as to the resolution. Why couldn't they just say what it was over the phone. Apparently it their policy not to disclose decisions that way and whoever is on the phone supposedly does not have access to the information.
So of course the letter never shows. Two weeks later I'm calling trying to resolve this and it turns out the letter carrier mis-delivered it to my neighbor and they had gone out of town so did not see it until their return! Sheeesh!
Long story short- there was a check for the damaged item.

I know now never to ship using FedEx. I shipped a package with them and they damaged it and posted. I filed a claim after refunding to the buyer. They destroyed the package did not deliver it at all and denied my claim that it was their fault. VERY BAD COMPANY TO USE FOR SHIPPING. Paul

They destroyed the package did not deliver it at all and denied my claim that it was their fault. I called and spoke to an agent that had no clue what to do. Asked for my phone number and said that someone might call me about my complaint about being denied my claim for their poor performance as a delivery company. VERY BAD COMPANY TO USE FOR SHIPPING. I have been using FEDEX for a long time now. I ship heavy dinnerware and fragile items. Only had to file 2 claims. Both were resolved in my favor within a week. Love FEDEX.
