I am so tired of the Global Shipping Program

I sell in a category where people buy many items per purchase. I end up having to cancel around 10 large orders per week because the Global Shipping Program doesn’t let me combine shipping so the buyers decide to cancel their order. It might not be that bad if I didn’t lose countless watchers because of this. I’ve had to cancel orders with items that had up to 20 watchers and start from scratch all because of this faulty system. This needs to be fixed.

I am so tired of the Global Shipping Program

     It's not just the GSP the same problem exists with BIN and immediate payment required if the buyer does not place the items in a shopping cart and place a single order. I am not sure if that approach would work with the GSP and multiple orders next time you have the issue see if you can work with one of your buyers to use the shopping cart capability and see if the GSP combines the shipping.

I haven't had that problem. I often sell in multiples via Global Shipping. Since, we don't send an invoice I'm not sure how GSP does it. But, I combine my shipping charges to Kentucky and ship packaged together. I'm sure GSP bills them, but I'm sure they do it as a combined package.

What you could possible do is have them ask to cancel then make a custom listing with everything that the buyer wants

I've been using GSP for a long time and I love it!

I've never has multiple GSP orders so I've never experienced what you are going through.

I hope they are able to fix it.

What’s the difference between eBay international standard and the Global Shipping Program?
eBay international standard is a Delivered Duties Unpaid (DDU) shipping solution—buyers won’t pay duties and tax at checkout on eBay but may have to pay the carrier for duties and tax on delivery. The Global Shipping Program (GSP) is a Delivery Duties Paid (DDP) shipping program—buyers pay duties and tax during checkout on eBay via GSP. eBay international standard gives you full control of what you want to charge buyers for shipping (Free, Flat, Calculated) from end to end. With GSP, the buyer always sees the GSP shipping charges, and also any costs you set for the domestic shipping leg (Free, Flat, Calculated).

If buyers place ALL their items in the Cart and make a single payment they can all be sent via GSP as a single shipment.

 

I'm not saying that the GSP program isn't without it's issues (it is) but unless you use it and/or fully understand it you are likely to make inaccurate assumptions.

I'm not a buyer. You can definitely go educate buyers about that feature if your claim is they are doing it wrong.

 

A more useful and intelligent strategy would be to either address the UX issues on the buy side or give control on the sell side.
