I LOST 680 BUCKS ON A FRAUD CC CHARGEBACK.PAYPAL TOOK THE MONEY

I GOT TO THE TOP BRASS AT U.S.P.S  NTERNAL AFFAIRS INVESTIGATIONS DIVISION IN WASHINGTON DC. ABOUT STOLEN ITEMS AND NO SELLER PROTECTION FROM EBAY OR PAYPAL WHEN THE SELLER HAS PROOF ON CHARGE BACKS BEING  ALLOWED UNDER STRICT POLICIES PROCEDURES AND CONDITIONS.  PAYPAL AND EBAY..LOOK IT UP CAREFULLY.

THEY ARE VERY INTERESTED IN THIS ONE PARTICULAR NY POST OFFICE.. ONE  POST OFFICE. SO HOLD ON PEOPLE..WE MIGHT HAVE A CASE.

I NOW KNOW I CAN HAVE MY ATTORNEY SUBPOENA THE CARRIER WHO HAD THE ITEM IN HIS HAND LAST... AND SAID HE LEFT A NOTE.. DOUBT IT. THE BUYER AND I WATCHED AS THE ITEM SAT..IN TRANSIT FOR OVER A WEEK..THE ITEM NEVER RETURNED BACK TO THE POST OFFICE FOR RE DELIVERY..GOT IT  DID NOT GET SCANNED AND PUT IN A BIN.. AND THEN 14 DAYS I CALLED AND THE NUMBER WENT TO A FAX..THEN I WAS STUCK AS THE BUYER TOO. WATCHED IT SIT..IN TRANSIT FOR ANOTHER WEEK..WAIT A MINUTE.,..ITS..STOLEN. ..IT NEVER MADE IT BACK TO THE POST OFFICE. GOTCHA. I WILL SIMPLY SUE YOU IN QUEENS SMALL CLAIMS COURT FOR THE MISSING ITEM.

Hi Neomant.

 

I feel for you. We've all had an issue with a buyer that gets us worked up and most especially when the transaction is for a high dollar amount. Many of us have come here too to vent or look for assitance or reassurance. Everyone here is not against you. They are just being objective. You are still too close to this and emotional. Understandable. And human.

 

But at the end of the day or in your near future when time has passed you will see that a buyer purchased something and didn't get it. There are more to the ciscumstance yes, but that is where you need to start.

 

Whether you stay here or sell elsewhere keep in mind this lesson  learned. If you cannot afford the hit you need to protect yourself. I personally am very cautious on high dollar transactions. And this is not because I am super smart. I've made missteps too. I shipped a laptop to an unconfirmed address in 2001. And then promptly learned about chargebacks, stolen paypal accounts, end the whole gamit 30 days later.

I got the Office of Internal Government Affairs looking into the way that decisions are made by credit card companies on charge backs..and also Paypal chargeback legal practices..They are looking very closely at the documents along the way.page by page... They found alot of questions that need answering.And I also contacted my local news station and they aslo want an explanation about a theft from a USPS post office in NY. This is going to be very intersting.

NO....THE BUYER HAS THE RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY FOR INSURANCE..I .WONT PAY 13 BUCKS WHEN ITS NOT REQUIRED BY THE SELLER, NEITHER IS SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION..THE ITEM WAS GOING 2 STATES AWAY AND GOT LOST..NOPE ..THE CARRIER NEVER LEFT A NOTE AND STOLE THE ITEM .NOW THE OIG  WANT A COPY OF THE NOTE LEFT..GOOD LUCK WOODHAVEN..INVESTIGATORS ARE GOING TO THE POST OFFICE THIS WEEK...THE POST OFFICE STOLE THE PACKAGE AND THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ITEM. THIS IS A FEDERAL OFFENSE.

THEY NEVER LEFT FEEDBACK..THAT WAS THE FIRST BUYER..AND ITS A SCAM  EVEN IF I PAID INSURANCE..ITS STOLEN

If you had paid the 13 dollars insurance, you would have gotten your 680 dollars back from the Post Office, because the package was stolen and did not reach the buyer.

 

Since you didn't, the Post Office won't reimburse you.

 

The buyer in no way has to pay insurance on the package.

It was your loss, not their's.

 

Buyers know they do Not need insurance.

if they don't get their package, eBay will refund them from the Seller's funds,

even if the seller protests, or feels they didn't need insurance.

Again, sorry you took a loss, and hope the parcel eventually gets returned to you.

If there was such an office, it would have nothing to do with credt card companies or chargebacks.  If you instead mean USPS Internal Affairs (Inspector General), that would be the post office looking into your disappearing parcel.  Again, this would have nothing to do with investigating paypal, ebay, credit card companies or anybody else.

No, just no.  If you learn nothing else from this experience, you should at least understand that you the seller will lose every time under these circumstances.

You can work the cost of insurance into your pricing so the buyer is paying for it like overhead, but insurance is for YOUR protection, the buyer is already fully protected by ebay, PayPal and sometimes their credit card company.

 

If the shipment is lost, stolen or damaged YOU are paying for it and then it is up to you to go after the carrier which only works within the parameters of the insurance

 

If you are going to sell online here and most other credible sites you do need to understand how and when the buyer is protected and how to limit your losses

I am so sorry this has happpened to you. Yes, the  buyer should have picked up the item. Yes, and double YES, USPS should have tracked that package properly and re delivered the item. YES, they should not have lost the package. Did you ever have them do a GPS search for the package? I know 13.00 extra bucks and more may have been a bit too much for you but, personally, NOTHING of any value we sell ever goes out without insurance because the Postal Service does have error rates, and packaes get lost or stolen at rates that I would not take a risk with. For an item over $600, it would have been well worth the insurance to protect your self in this situation. Best to you and again, so sorry this happened.

Yep, you price your items to cover the extra shipping insurance that has to go on a high value item to prevent this disaster.

I suspect a different scenario.

 

You say,

I'm just taking a guess here and it's not crucial to my theory but:

 

When you were first watching the tracking, in the beginning:

 

Did the buyer contact you first about it not being delivered?

 

Or did you contact the buyer?

 

Because, to me, it looks delivered and not scanned. It looks, to me, that you wrote the buyer often, and expressed concern.  The buyer picked up on that.

 

The buyer saw an opportunity. After a month, tracking didn't show delivered. Do a chargeback. What did he have to lose?

 

You have serious authorities looking into it, so relax and let them do their jobs.

I remember when insurance was paid by the buyer, too.  That went out with the eBay MBG, though.
