I have an old pair of Zenni eyeglasses I want to sell.
Do I sell them with the lens taken out or leave the lens in and put it in the description?

Since ebay does not allow the sale of PRESCRIPTION medicines or devices, I would take the prescription lenses out.

If they are prescription glasses, I would remove the lenses and just sell the frames.
Happy Selling!!

Well, I sold a vintage pair of Ray-Bans with prescription lens in them and did put it in description. When you mail them please make sure the lens are protected. Best to you.

And, I just BOUGHT A pair of vintage RayBans to have a Rx put in.
I was told, by the lab, that it's best if they arrive with lenses in them. Makes it easier for the lab to measure the size of the cut of the glass to go in. Might just end up with a tighter fit.

I've sold three pair of prescription glasses here with the prescriptions still in them. No problem. I'd rather let the pros take the lenses out than myself. I have some reading glasses listed with no prescription but they're going nowhere.

Of course you can sell frames with RX lenses. There is no restriction and they are not medical devices.
Keep the lens in, and clearly state in the description (and maybe title) they have rx lenses.

The ones I sold were mine before I had eye surgery. My eyesight was so bad that you could have used them for microscopes - selling point!

I have sold older frames with the prescription lens in them. I found it easier to leave them in and let the buyer take care of it. Not sure it would be worth purchasing a used zenni frame and then paying for a lens

The problem with older glasses frames is that they get brittle with time. The pairs I sold I had worn very little before having eye surgery so they did not have any of the time or wearing that creates brittleness in the plastic, and I was very careful to detail how little they had been worn. Glasses frames that have been never worn retain their strength, but if they have been worn on a regular basis for a even a year, or I didn't know the use history, I wouldn't bother trying to sell them.
ETA: Zenni is pretty cut rate - I'm not sure how good the integrity of their frames is versus wear time.

I sell my no-longer-needed and vintage designer frames with the lenses in. That is the preferred method for eyeglass labs because they can use the old lenses as a template for the new ones that will need to be cut for your buyer. Just be sure to mention it in the listing.

In a case like this, I'd sell the frames (and advertise without lenses), but ship the lenses to the buyer to let them know it's a sample so they can get new glass cut.
Just because eBay says you can't list something doesn't mean you shouldn't include it if it will help the buyer with their item.
I have on occasion boxes for proof coins that are horrible shape, so bad I wouldn't post a picture because it will distract from the listing, so I advertise just the coin. The box provides safe transport of the coin to the buyer, so I ship it in that and let them know the box is include for safe shipping, but is not in collectible condition.

eBay's does flag/remove because of medical devices policy sometimes because of the word "Prescription" in the listing.
