Can anyone out there advise how to leave negative feedback ? It appears I can only leave a positive feedback rating
I don’t like having to do this but I’ve had multiple non payers lately and I’m getting fed up of it.
Other sellers need alerting to these time wasters

Sellers cannot leave negative feedback or even negatively worded feedback for buyers.

Buyers can ONLY get positive feedback with a positive comment. (This has been since 2008!)
Don't even consider leaving a negative comment for a buyer (or non-payer) because YOU will end up with a feedback violation.

Sellers have not been able to leave negative feedback since 2008. I highly advise you NOT leave a positive negative, as eBay can and will remove it. It violates eBay policy. It can also jeopardize your account.

I have been able to leave a negative feedback rating for a non payer in the past but find it impossible to do so now ?

set your buyer rules to "require" potential buyers to provide a payment method

Perhaps it's different in the UK. This is a US discussion forum for buyers and sellers. You may be better served by tapping into the UK's discussion forum:

Good luck getting the help and advice you need.

Why are you doing auctions on those cheap clothes?
You're only getting 1 bid.
Do away with auctions and list as a fixed price with immediate payment required.

Thanks for the insight 👍

The rule seems to be the same in the UK.

Sellers Can't leave negative feedback on any buyer and we haven't been able to do that for years. I also would not advise you to leave a positive feedback with a negative comment as that is against the rules too and you can be sanctioned for doing that.
We have ways to help protect us from non paying bidders on auctions in the US, I'm just not sure if they are the same in the UK. Check your Buyer Requirements. Make sure you have it set for the strictest possible on the number of unpaid strikes a buyer can have to bid or purchase from you. That is 2 in the past 12 months.
Also in the Buyer Requirements, towards the bottom there are a couple of newer options here in the USA, see if you have them in the UK too.

Yes

Those buyers could report the feedback you left and you would be hit with policy violations.

As expected, it appears you are selling auction items on one bid. A sign that you should not be listing as auctions and would probably have fewer NPBs if you listed as fixed price auctions.
The auction format is no where near as popular with buyers as it used to be and the added inconvenience of coming back to pay makes buyers not bother to pay.

While it is commendable to want to help other sellers, most buyers cannot be vetted before a transaction (it is only after the sale, or with Best Offer, that a buyer is revealed) so warnings in feedback serve no useful purpose, even if they were allowed.
For those US sellers who may read this post, eBay provides some seller protections in this regard— use your Buyer Requirements. It serves an important function far more effectively than warnings most sellers will not see.
BR can automatically block serial non-payers from having access to one’s listings. Savvy sellers who set their Buyer Requirements’ levels to 2 strikes in 12 months can protect their accounts from those who make a habit of not paying.
For more BR info for US sellers, see the link to the policy below:
