Dear community,
I had a very bad experience with eBay. I sold a laptop on eBay, but the buyer returned an envelop back to me.
The outbound box weight was a laptop, 8 lbs, to DE, but the return was a 4 oz envelop, and it was sent from CA. The buyer just bought a piece of plastic from Amazon and had the return address for it. The return label even came with the Amazon order number.
This is supposed to be a straightforward case, but eBay said, they could not identify what was returned, and thus, they refunded the buyer. A laptop was never able to be returned by a 4-oz envelop. But eBay just ignore such a fact. I appealed, but eBay just made this final decision.
I do not expect selling more valuable things on eBay. Instead, my current concern is how to contact eBay management team, or how to file arbitration against eBay. I have been selling on Amazon and Walmart for many years, and never had this kind experience.
This is my 1st time to encounter such kind of seller support team. Ridiculous.

These events have been hashed and rehashed on these boards since day one--when you weren't even actively participating in the Community. It has appeared countless times on Ecommercebytes and on @valueaddedresource's blog. You have no idea what I think of the heinous crimes committed by these people because you weren't even actively posting at the time.
I was by no means trying to "sugarcoat" anything and I resent the implication that I was. I was indicating the error in your post saying SEVEN (in all caps, no less) eBay employees had gone to prison for it. That was wrong.
Why would trying to correct YOUR error suddenly mean I'm sugarcoating the situation?

...not to mention that the activities of those idiots has nothing to do with the topic at hand, which is a complaint about eBay's applying their stated policy for returns.
They refunded the OP's scammer after he did a return trinket swap for a high-value sale. eBay's standard response for that is to claim that because they have no idea what was sent or received, they will "roll back" the transaction and pretend that everyone is even now.

eBay kept my $2,870.00. with my picture, BANK ACCOUNT, phone number, address, tracking number of item I sold., Customer Service repeatedly said they don't have enough information on me so will Not pay me. Been months I've been trying and waiting. SCAM.
