Hello all. I recently sold my BMW to a buyer here on email but the buyer hasn't made the required deposit and is ignoring my emails. I just went through this earlier with a non paying buyer(same BMW). Is there anyway to get a phone number to call or should I just go ahead and report the buyer once the 48 hour mark hits? its already been about 33 hours. I am trying to give the buyer the benefit of the doubt due to having a decent feedback (98) but I'm also weary as there seems to have been an uptick in non paying buyers

It is clear the buyer has no interest in buying the car and no, he will not be happy if you somehow got his phone number and called him. Just accept it and find another buyer. Consider making a second chance offer to the bidders who got beaten by this deadbeat.

Unfortunately here is what you are dealing with.
Non-binding bid policy

Back in the old days, you could get your transaction partner’s phone number - including bidders pulling seller’s number on an as yet unfinished auction.

No ,, I wouldn't call the buyer if it were me . Although it's a big ticket item so to speak I'd just chalk it up to another non paying buyer thingy and then relist the car . I'm sure someone more trustworthy will come along soon enough . Tulips .

Make a second chance offer to the next highest bidder. It looks like it's only a $5.00 difference.

Thanks. This is the second deadbeat in a row. I tried the second chance offer but the guy wasn’t interested. Seems like eBay is allowing deadbeats to hang around more now than they used to

Thanks. It’s just I’ve had two deadbeats in a row and it’s frustrating

I miss those days

Well that sucks. Used to to be binding back in the day but if that’s the rule, that’s the rule

In the future, you can always just go to Sellers Hub in transactions, click on the small transaction number at the top right, and all the buyers info will be there.

I don't recommend calling but in preferences under shipping settings there is an option to require all buyers provide a phone number. If that's checked the number should be in the order details.
