How to charge buyer for a second shipping label?

I have a listing where I pay for shipping. Buyer had a problem with their address and it was sent back to me. Buyer still wants the item and has resolved the address issue. How do I charge them for the second shipping label?

Send them an invoice thru paypal. You are allowed to exchange that information once a transaction has already taken place.

I know the above is marked as 'Answered', but it's technically incorrect.  Might it work? Sure.  Is it a risk?  Yes.

Per eBay policy, you should never take any part of any transaction off eBay.

In order to invoice them via PayPal, you'd have to share your PayPal information, and would have to ask for their PayPal information, which is in violation of the above.

How to do what you ask and stay within eBay guidelines?

  1. Refund the original purchase, deducting the cost of the original label.  (Not your fault the label was 'used').
  2. Relist/Restock the item.
  3. Have them buy it again with the correct address.
