Very disappointed in ebay to adopt this MP . Securing and having access to the funds at time of sale was a rewarding and crucial part of the platform. For the honest long term sellers MP significantly lowers morale.
Not here -- been selling since '97 and no 'significant' lowering of morale. Same thing at work - the boss is actually a bit happier since he doesn't have to transfer the funds from PayPal to the bank in order to use them to cover the bills. And the increased speed over payouts from Amazon was very well received -- AMZ would hold payments for up to 1/2 month before they were deposited. Provided you had shipped -- no shipping, no funds.
If your business model REQUIRES access to payment funds immediately, perhaps you need to review your business model or find a different platform. But remember, the Feds and the State Tax departments are all looking at venues for income tax reporting and sales tax collection/reporting/disbursement -- and that means more and more venues are going to a venue-payment process so they can properly meet those Federal and State requirements.

@allhamstuff wrote:I hate it! Their policy of restricting our accounts till the buyers have their merchandise, and are satisfied making it harder for us to pay shipping and insurance out of our own pockets even when buyers pay for shipping! Shunning Paypal instant pay was bad enough delaying our payment up to three business days thru banks! Now it could take up to two weeks to see any of it is a deal-breaker for me!
I have never had to wait until the buyer received their shipment, much less until they were satisfied, before receiving my payment. And it's a pretty easy thing to keep enough funds in the bank to cover the shipping/insurance - been doing that for years, even before eBay. And I've not yet had an MP deposit take more than 2 days to be available in my bank - but then, I'm using an online bank, so they are kinda used to that kind of deposit. If it's taking you two weeks to get your funds... you need to switch to daily deposits and find a better bank!

You sound like a paid eBay employee, end of conversation. Have a good day.

@escapetoparadise wrote:Well it's holding on to my sale. The buyer paid $310 for my purchase on Sunday and it is now the close of business on Monday and it said that the funds would be made available to me by the end of today and guess what the money's still not in my account... So guess what, the buyer is not getting his item and told the payment is completed and no longer pending in my account because I do not trust anything with managed payments.
Does anyone know how many business days, it takes eBay to officially release the funds into your bank account, non-pending???
Perhaps selling on ebay is not for you.

You've obviously not researched or thought thru what's really going on, and have some false assumptions and unworkable ideas.
Facts:
- The "good old days of PayPal" and immediate access to payments are over.
- There's no more PayPal bureaucracy to contend with when problems arise.
- MP is here to stay, and getting in line with it will improve success as a seller.
- When Ebay says to ship, you need to ship without delay!
- When Ebay says to ship, your payment is already SECURED. Payment processing only takes a couple business days.
- Buyers don't care about when your money is in your account. They just want their purchase ASAP.
- Many buyers will find another seller if your delivery date is too far out due to your shipping delay.
- Don't make your expectations a buyer's problem - think good customer service for repeat sales.
- Using a cc at a store, the owner doesn't hold onto your item a few days until his pay is in his account, does he?
- Successful sellers with MP have not lost a penny that was due to them and their sales.
- If you can't adjust your expectations to a couple days to be paid, perhaps online selling is not for you.
- Successful sellers Accept > Adjust > Adapt. That's what makes them successful on Ebay.
- You'll find the grass is not greener at other venues. Try Amazon: 2 weeks delay on auto payments.
- If you demand immediate payment, require cash and set up a yard sale.
You had no problem waiting a week, two weeks, or a month or even more for your employer to pay you. You accepted it because you had no choice, and that's what your employer set up. I'll bet you didn't confront them and demand immediate and daily deposit into your bank account. Same thing applies here - Adjusting your business model to MP is not that difficult. Things are going very smoothly for those of us who have adapted.
It's Ebay's sandbox and they make the rules, which are not onerous at all when compared with the alternatives. Accept, adjust, and adapt to change - it's always going to happen in life.
Cheers, Duffy

Hate to point this out, but buyer has PAID. Your payment system is not their problem.
Increase your shipping time a few days to relieve some of your stress and avoid late dings and buyer frustration.
But, seriously, scams are rare and unlikely to happen by people playing MP. So many more ways to do it.
As for myself, no MP issues. I miss the instant access of PayPal, but it’s not a game changer.

There are some out there who give their unwanted business advice and righteousness **bleep**! We are individuals and started here on the promise of fast sales and quick pay! It's eBay, not us that changed! If we want quick then that's the way it is, you can save all you want for a rainy day and pay shipping yourselves from your stash of older sales! eBay was a secondary source to us, a safety margin between weekly pay so of speak! We don't have to bow to Ebay's policies as you have done! Given time eBay will continue to add more rules and regulations till even those with so-called business sense will see the light!
