Unless it's changed, I always paid ebay, not FedEx.

It's not a separate bill, it goes on your eBay invoice along with listing fees and final value fees.  Usually right after it's scanned into their system.

The final charges are included in the next eBay invoice AFTER the item is delivered.

Item was confirmed delivered 4 days ago. How long does it typically take for the invoice to appear?

Depending on which cycle you are on, ebay will send you an invoice shortly after the middle or the end of the month.

You don't get a special invoice for it. It will appear on your regular invoice which is issued either on the last day of the month or the 15th of the month depending on which billing cycle you are on.

Re: How long does it TYPICALLY take Fedex to send you the bill for the shipping label purchased on E

Why did they set it up this way?  I'd rather everything be wrapped up by the time of delivery.  This so is not fun where I have sit around waiting for the invoice so that I can get to my next sale.  Since errors are RIFE these days it seems like this is what I have to do.   Ok so I have learned the hard way not to buy a Fedex shipping label from Ebay.  To my understanding the USPS label comes directly out of the purchase?  Are there any ways to avoid having to wait a month for the invoice to get all fees wrapped up?

Because that is how FedEx works, billing is never done until the package is in the hands of FedEx and the details are verified. It would be the same if you used your own FedEx account.

USPS works differently, they charge when you print the label, they verify later that the correct amount was paid and if not send a supplementary bill for any shortage.

USPS labels are charged immediately, but they are only taken from the purchase if you're choosing to see it that way.  You pay for it, somehow, that's all that matters.

Maybe you can explain this, I don't understand what you're waiting around for. Do you wait around for the invoice showing your FVF before you get to your next sale?

Re: How long does it TYPICALLY take Fedex to send you the bill for the shipping label purchased on E

I feel the pain waiting. I think it's tough waiting because if you are waiting for a bill to show up, and you keep all your monies in paypal, you just need to ignore whatever the shipping costs were and leave that amount in your paypal account or it will charge to your credit card/ebay mastercard when you don't pay the ebay invoice. I know many of us live "paycheck to paycheck" and once a sale is made, I like to immediately make "one time payments" so I don't get huge ebay invoices. I would rather pay the small amounts as items sell than pay all at once. It can add up and if you don't have a lot of cash around when the request for payment arrives, it may go to your checking account and if the money isn't in there, then you get an overcharge in your personal bank.

The good thing about fedex is I believe you are getting a large discount. I shipped a 16th century chair from Massachusets to Kentucky and the chair arrived safe and sound. The FEDEX charge was $75 and the UPS would have been more than $150.  So Fedex, for inhome/larger deliveries is likely better, but yeah, you have to wait. UNLESS you know what the fee will be, (you should) and just give that to EBAY. You will show a credit/overpayment to ebay but when the invoice finally does show up, it will zero out and your card or whatever your payment method is, won't be charged. So, I give it to ebay even if it's an overpayment. Just make sure when you do pay it that your account shows up that amount in the GREEN. When it goes through, you'll be back in the red. But it's paid and you don't have to hold the money and wait, giving you the opportunity to spend it accidentally.

Re: How long does it TYPICALLY take Fedex to send you the bill for the shipping label purchased on E

I should add that before you do send ebay the pre-one time payment, it's probably best to wait for the item to arrive and the buyer says they are happy and even better when they post you a nice positive. Then I would feel better know that it's going to actually show up.  (PACK WELL as to avoid any potential for damage in transit.) Damage item claims will then come back at you and you will need to cover return shipping unless abandoned. But then you need to at least refund the amount of the item. It's a gamble/risk for sure. It's good to know the buyer has received the item and is happy. BIG RELIEF! (Fedex is not the most gentle of carriers.) Anything can happen. So if you do want the item back if damaged, be prepared to cover the return as well. At least the to customer fee is done with. & keep positive because stress is not healthy and these days., in all this crazyness... we need to stay healthy.

You're not listening.  Fedex had it in its hands, the details were verified and delivered the package 2 weeks ago.

How do we get the invoice IMMEDIATELY?  When did this plan of invoicing long after a sale come about? Is it so e-bay can take advantage of the errors they make in their favor and when a sale is long done the seller had a harder time rectifying the errors?
