How long do I have to wait after reporting a buyer for not paying?

It’s been a week since buyer hasn’t paid and 5 days since I reported the buyer to ebay

When you say "reported" does that mean you filed a UPI case against the buyer?

Re: How long do I have to wait after reporting a buyer for not paying?

you should be able to close  it now.....you can do it directly  from the dispute console /resolution center or go into seller hub,

in the orders tab in seller hub it will show the number of items eligible  for the FVF and ready to close

It also mentions next to this line the number of items elgible for a non paying bidder

the same tab also shows the number of returns that are open

it takes 96 hours to the minute to close a NPB

Re: How long do I have to wait after reporting a buyer for not paying?

Here is the Help page about what to do if a buyer doesn't pay:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/unpaid-items.html

When you file an unpaid item claim, eBay immediately sends the buyer a message that strongly encourages them to pay for their item within 4 days. But that's all eBay does.

If the buyer doesn't pay, then after 4 days you'll get the option to close the case, giving the buyer a strike and getting a credit for your final value fee. Do not expect to hear anything about your case directly from eBay. Either the buyer pays or they don't. If you don't close the case within 36 days after the transaction it will expire, which means no strike for the buyer and no credit for you.

After the transaction, the seller must wait at least 48 hours before they can file the unpaid item claim.

After filing the claim, the seller must wait at least 4 days (96 hours) before they can give the buyer a nonpayment strike.

Re: How long do I have to wait after reporting a buyer for not paying?

Because you are a new seller selling an expensive phone, you are a scammer magnet.

Beware and ignore the buyer or anyone wanting you to text or email them to make payment arrangements.

They either pay on thru the listing or they don't. If they don't, Go to the resolution center and file an unpaid item claim (easy).

If they still don't pay, then you will get your final value fees back.

https://resolutioncenter.ebay.com/

"To start the resolution process, please tell us what your problem is:
I sold an item.
I haven't received my payment yet."

Re: How long do I have to wait after reporting a buyer for not paying?

We're lucky as we don't need fast pays. We wait a week and send them a reminder. A few days later another. We wait another week and file with ebay.

They end up paying almost half the time.

Re: How long do I have to wait after reporting a buyer for not paying?

I think you sort of jumped the gun reporting the buyer to Ebay after two days.  At two days I usually just send an invoice.  I usually wait just over a week before I report a buyer, and that is after sending a last message to a buyer.

That being said, your chances of keeping the money even if you receive payment are slim to none being a new seller who sold arguably one of the top scam item on Ebay.  If they have not got paid then get down on your knees and thank the major and minor gods of the planet. The moment you can close the case then do it and sell that item locally.
