What is the point of a seller having the option to not accept returns if the buyer can return the item for full refund plus shipping cost both ways?
I had a buyer open a case to return an item. They had the item for 8 days then decided they didn't like it so they claimed it was broken.
eBay decided in their favor. Now I have to give full refund and pay for return shipping. Plus all the ebay & paypal fees. So I just lost a $100 plus time & stress. Stress because the buyer sent 3 messages threatening me. They included personal information about me. Called me a redneck. Made threatening remarks.
I'm just trying to sell some personal home items instead of tossing in the trash, someone could use them. And I am wasting my time. So how the heck can a ebay store make enough money to have a decent income?

How do you know they weren't broken? How would you like to receive a broken item and not be able to return it and get your money back?
Fact is in life, people expect to be able to return items and if "doesn't like" makes them pay for shipping, some will claim broken, doesn't work, etc. Just a fact of selling on line where people can't touch/feel/test items. No one likes it as a seller.........as a buyer, it works and those buyers will buy again on line.

You could have just given them a refund without getting the item back, but that is not recommended as it encourages false claims of damage. And yes, any time a buyer claims he didn't get the item as described in the description, whether he is telling the truth or not, the seller has to refund. The seller has to decide whether it is worth paying for the return.
