How is it this is $0.00 funds?

See previous message about this issue.

So I'm reviewing all my sales in the past month or so with EBAY and I still don't understand how the total funds is so little.  I can only think that because I'm below standard that EB is taking more fees than normal.  Can you explain how I end up with 0.00 funds?  I'm going through all my "earnings" and this is a real wakkup call.  If I'm getting 0.00 funds then there's no need to be on Ebay.

If you click on the order#, that will show you all of the deductions that were made for that transaction. It's difficult to see what happened with only seeing 2 rows of your transaction report.

Here's another one.  Who do I call at Ebay to discuss this?

The images you're providing DO show a profit, but DON'T show your entire account's story. Do you owe eBay money for store fees, refunds, etc.? The best way to get an American eBay rep is through Facebook (eBay for Business), it takes time, but it's better than the foreign reps.

No, I don't have a store.  I don't have refunds as of these transactions.  I went to "view" and Learn more and couldn't see what happened.  I don't have FB (don't use it) and went to EB through Twitter and filed a BBB report.

Thanks I went into order# and it shows the net revenue.  The 0.00 funds must reflect that I no longer have earnings in the acct because Ebay paid out.  That's a little backwards isn't it?  I think EB makes things soooo complicated.

Thanks.  I had to go into the Order# to see the amounts.  Thanks all, resolved.

I don't know why EB would have a 0.00 total funds screen; makes NO sense.

Glad you got it sorted out.  Things are constantly changing throughout the day with funds. When a buyer first pays, the funds aren't immediately available. Then there is your payout schedule. Hopefully you'll start to see some larger deposits into your bank account as we approach the holidays. Good Luck!

@ the Hook,

This has been a wakeup call.  All the while I thought I was making a "slight" profit but I'm making pitiful profit after the fees.  For example this item, Earnings are 11.54, but the Total buyer paid was $22.20 - that's 50% cut!  Nothing for me.  I believe I paid about $2 for the item and my profit would be $3. !!!  I'm doing better to take my clothings to consignors (like TRR, and buy-sell) or to sell strictly on the P* site, that site only takes 20% cut.

OMG, gotta change my strategy.

I hesitate to respond because we just went over this on your other thread.   Your item sold for $14.00 and you ended up with $11.54--that's not bad.   The $22. figure includes the sales tax and shipping the buyer paid.  You don't get to get those amounts and they aren't fees.  Your breakdown will show the percentage in fees you were charged.

@liawri-75,

With all due respect, you need to forget the girl-math. That's a joke (and insulting to all women, as well). If you're going to run a business, you need to be able to use real math.

For that transaction, you were charged $3.24 in fees, which were calculated based on the buyer's total payment of $22.20. For most categories (and most sellers), eBay charges 13.25% (variable final value fee) plus $0.30 per order (fixed final value fee).

($22.20 * 13.25%) + $0.30 = $2.94 + $0.30 = $3.24

https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/selling-fees?id=4822#section2

Part of the buyer's payment was for the shipping and their sales tax, and you have to pay fees on those amounts as well. In this case, your fees on shipping and sales tax were:

($7.00 + $1.20) * 13.25% = 8.20 * 13.25% = $1.09

You charged $7.00 for shipping, but it only cost you $6.22, so you saved $0.78 there. If you had charged $0.50 more for shipping, then you would have saved $1.28, which would have covered the additional fees plus a bit to give extra coverage in case the buyer's sales tax was higher.

I mean, if you want more than $3 profit on a $22 item that you paid $2 for it seems to me you should charge $25 for that item then your profit would be closer to $6 (minus fees, so make it $27 to be sure you get $6 actual).

$11.54 earnings on an item that cost about $2 seems like it worked out well. $9.54 on a $2 item is over 400% profit. Subtract a little for packaging, and there is still some $$ left over to compensate you for your time.
