How do I dispute listing fees? Who do I talk to about PM trolls & drama queens?

Over the years at different times I've listed & sold items on eBay. There have been with often long periods of time in between.

I've had this account since Oct of 2003. I had an account before this when I was in College between 1995 & 1999 and it was hacked in around 2000; I don't recall if starting a new account and closing the previous one had to do with.

I listed some items in the last 6 months and missed the fine-print about " free listings ".

In the middle of it I had some sort of eBay buyer - troll - type accusing me that I never had the items to begin with.

Which since he claimed he was going to report me to eBay I thought that I had to provide proof of ownership to the PM conversation - because I thought that eBay was or would be monitoring this. Without showing off my bank account, physical location, store where I purchased these - it's easier said then done to do so - time consuming.

When I bring this up it's to bring context to the situation - meaning that I was under a time crunch and didn't investigate all failure points to listing these items on eBay.

So I was partially distracted while trying to sell these items and perceived that I was not being charged for anything.

Long story short is after listing 4 items - none of which sold - eBay want's $281

Is there any sort of arbitration process in the current May 2021 eBay account?

It used to be that one could call the Dispute Resolution Center (if I recall the term correctly).

Is there any way to talk to a human about buying/ selling/ listings these days?

Apparently " End Auction -style listings early Fee " - I thought w/ no bidders and 12 hrs before auction close you could end the listing/ auction

more eBay Fees

This is a weird situation to be in... I'm feeling like just saying good bye to eBay since 1998...

It's like "... pay us $271 or else ..." and what does that equate to?

Before you contact eBay you must read this page so that you fully understand why eBay has made this charge;

https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/payment-policies/offers-buy-sell-outside-ebay-policy?id=4272

You may not have intended to do an off-eBay transaction and you may never have actually completed the transaction but eBay has some reason to believe that is what happened. An exchange of contact information followed by ending the relevant listing early is all it takes for the 'bots to suspect something.

If you can review your communications with the "troll" it could help you to appeal the charges. In these cases presentation is everything you have to boil it down to simple bullet points that eBay csr's can follow.

Well my understanding is that they have to notify a person of intent to go to Collections before they assign to Collections. btw for what it's worth credit rating hasn't been impacted & I've never had anything go to collections.

That's the how & why of the distraction w/ the Troll...

They kept trying to get that info out of me. It took awhile to find the info (that I thought eBay was at some point monitoring), edit the pics to filter out the origins/ locations/ account numbers/ names ex... They tried to accuse me of being a scammer... I am not and there is no evidence of in my time on eBay since 2003

That Troll guy was a real pain... Totally acted entitled & acted like the sun revolved around them.

Listing fees. Nothing sold. There were no transactions.

I have so many other projects when I actually get the time to do something about this there are no resources to do something constructive about this.

I think it's a slap in the face to have to pay $271 or $281 for listing fees when nothing sold.

Basically it's pay $271+ or eBay threatens collections

Yeah the only option eBay gives is to pay them what they want.

Just because a buisness thinks it needs your money dosn't mean they have the right to inforce collections for services they never fully rendered.

As far as I can tell there is no more eBay Customer Service.

There are simply a bunch of articles that don't pertain to this situation...

And at the end of it is.... Here we need your credit card number now... **bleep**?

This is not the eBay I joined in 1997
