So I used eBay standard international to a buyer who filed INR. The tricky thing is that often times these packages change hands with 2-3 different carrier companies so there’s 2-3 different tracking numbers associated with the package.
The original tracking that automatically uploads to the purchase (ESUS…) doesn’t get tracked by USPS, but there’s many third party sites that do track it. Anyway this particular package has 3 different tracking numbers (not including the FC tracking that it got when it went to the US sorting hub). These packages pretty much always get handed to DHL eCommerce, so there’s a tracking for them too. Which number was I supposed to upload to the INR?
ESUS only shows tracking until it left the US, the DHL one shows it cleared customs at destination country, and there’s actually a USPS one (LX something) that started at destination country and states notice given to recipient as package is ready for pickup. So I used the LX one. The buyer asked eBay to step in immediately when the option showed up (didn’t give me any time to call eBay and close this out). The bots put this case on a 10 day hold. Weird as I thought they would’ve just awarded me.

You HAVE dealt with it, it should be closed out by eBay at some point.

This is one where I would reach out to your dedicated CS person or via social media and connect all the dots for these folks.
Expect the buyer to claim they went to p/u and not there. The 10 day hold is likely due to it does not show "delivered". It shows Ready for Pickup.
Good luck!!

@katzrul15If I leave it alone will it likely still close out in my favor after the 10 days? I try to avoid having to talk with ebay unless I have more birds to kill with that stone.

I agree with the contact eBay route, but you can wait it out to see what happens. If you lose then you can appeal it later when you have more things to ask eBay about. I (selfishly) would like to see you wait it out just so we can find out how the system will handle it. But if I were a betting man then I'd tell ya the extension is added when the system isn't recognizing a delivered status. Available for pickup does qualify as delivered by eBay so I think this will be a CS contact either way: to get it closed in your favor or to get it appealed in your favor.
In the meantime, use the ability to add a message to the INR and post details about the ISD shipment with the primary ESUS number along with the final/local tracking number and carrier and the available for pickup status. Having that documented within the INR comments will help if a human reviews this before it's closed or if you need to appeal later.

Since eBay Standard International Shipping is often Very Slow to deliver...I always let my Buyers
know in advance to be patient.. since the package will take longer to arrive than they might
expect...I also keep them informed as it travels to them...to avoid INR claims...If this package is in Customs...you should Not have to refund anything...

Yes it seems very important to connect dots on here when these things happen. Big Deals does not want this INR to close in buyers favor becuase the dots are not clearly presented to them and some bot just auto closes this case and then Big Deals will never get that money or item back.

Do what Katz told you to do and stay on top of this and give Ebay through your concierge service the heads up on all the info you have to avoid this INR to go in favor to buyer.

Message buyer and tell the to pick up their package.

This is a somewhat similar case that was on here but different in some ways because the other was an international shipment where the buyer refused to pay custom fee and then thepackage just sat there I guess for awhile, then according to that post, ebay gave them a refund then buyer went to customs afterwards and picked up their package. So they got it free, but payed the customs fees after the refund.

They cant close the case until the item shows delivered. Recalling these international packages is costly. I hope these folks pick up the package. If not I have no idea how you could proceed with this other than try to recall te package which is difficult and costly with a international.

Yea that's true. Whether I call to get this closed in my favor or I let the bots take it in 10 days and I lose/appeal... either way the effort will be the same for me in that I have to talk to ebay on the phone one time. And when given the opportunity to "test" ebay's automated systems and their workings, I'm curious enough to be a guinea pig if the dollar amount and penalty is minimal. The worst that can happen to me right now is that I have to wait an extra 10 days. That's fine with me for a low dollar item to satisfy my curiosity. I will post back the results here.
Also I can't add anymore messages into the INR since it was "asked to step in" already by the buyer. Case is on hold and there are no action buttons given to me by ebay on it.
@vintagecraze50There's been countless messages between the buyer and I. Many times he just messages me blank replies, then sounds like a broken record. I believe I wrote a post about this awhile back calling this buyer a broken record and how to communicate with them. Thru some replies, it's clear he receives and reads my messages. He might just be playing dumb to stall, no idea. About 25-30 messages from this buyer, over 2/3 of which are repetitive. So communicating with the buyer is out the window.

Wow so I guess ebay didn't want to wait the 10 days like they stated when the buyer asked ebay to step in on 9/25. I didn't get a chance to do anything yet and this morning ebay closed the case.
Outcome
The case was decided in your favor.
More info
The tracking information you provided shows that there was an attempted delivery to the buyer's address. The buyer is responsible for getting the item from the carrier. This case will not affect your seller performance. Any feedback left for this transaction will be removed.
That was unexpected eh? I wonder if an actual person reviewed it since it resolved before the 10 days were up. All's well that ends well I guess.

That would be my guess. Don't be surprised if the buyer comes back at you with a payment dispute. 🙄

Good news! Ebay made the correct decision!
