How do I combine shipping and send invoice to Buyer with Immediate Payment

How do I combine shipping and send invoice to Buyer with Immediate Payment.  I don't want to refund because Pay Pal will still charge me fees for the refund.  

Why did eBay take away the add to cart and request an invoice??? 

My buyer is asking for a discount if they buy more than one item and I would have to change my whole listing to reduce the price and shipping charges!  

How to make a sale and not make your buyer angry!

If you have ipr on your listings there’s no way for the buyer to request an invoice. You are telling ebay that you require buyers to pay immediately. That’s one of the downfalls to IPR. 

maybe if you remove ipr AND the buyer can check out on a desktop?

I guess I will have to take off the IPR for the listings to get the sale.  They look like a good buyer with great feedback for their sellers.  Don't want to lose the sale.

That's what I do if a potential buyer contacts me and asks me if I combine shipping. I explain that on my Buy Now items I have them listed as IPR and if they let me know which items they want to purchase I go into my listing unclick IPR and tell the buyer to add them to the cart Not to pay till you send an invoice if the buyer has them in the cart they can request an invoice from seller. I then adjust the invoice for shipping discount and send them back to the buyer. Now that does not work for some buyers in different countries I have come across some international buyers what did not have a cart option.

Instant payment does not allow you to send an invoice to a buyer for combined shipping. The only way to manage it is to refund the buyer the difference between paying shipping twice and whatever the combined shipping would cost them.  You can add discounts to a listing with multiple items - usually at the bottom of the listing , under shipping options. 

As another member mentioned, there is NO cart when you require instant payment.   Personally, I would make the changes to the listing and then the buyer can get combined shipping, discounts, etc.

I don't get what others are saying about "There is no Add to Cart if you require Immediate Payment".  This is just not true.  I require Immediate Payment, and I have the Add to Cart on all my listings.

Perhaps that I have automatic combined shipping properly set up?  This seems like the solution to your issue, just correctly put in the size and weights of the item in each listing and then set up automatic combined shipping.   Buyer uses Add to Cart, and their shipping charge is automatically combined.   Plus you can still set up other deals, discounts etc.  I have at least one shipping special set up in addition to the automatic combined shipping.

Sure you occasionally get a buyer that checks out in multiple transactions and you have to refund, but for me it's fairly rare, *most* thankfully know to use the Add to Cart.

There's no 'ding' and what's all the fuss? You have 'free shipping' anyway. The more they buy, the more it weighs, the more you pay. I've done free shipping, have customer buy 2, 4, 10 different things, and the cost to ship sometimes cost me $10 more, sometimes $10 less, but with 'Free Shipping' and over 10,000 customers served, not ONCE has a customer asked for a refund on 'free shipping'.

To refund $100, which you won't be doing, is $2.40 in costs. Time to deal with all this costs more than that. You could make a 'special' auction, with a 'multiple' of what they want (if it's all the same item), but just 'copy a listing, change the quantity in the title' (pack of 10) etc. If they are all different items, again, free shipping- how much is it really going to cost if you wanted to refund something? IPR is the best way to go.

You won't be using PayPal much longer anyway.   But that aside....you can just refuse to refund extra shipping charges, or ship every single package separately because that's how the buyer 'paid'.  But to me that creates horrible customer service, and you likely won't get repeat customers.  For me, any 'fees' associated with refunding extra shipping charges are part of doing business.   Plus... you don't have to refund 100% of the charge, save some back to cover the fees.

And no, sending a refund does NOT in any way impact your seller level.  I am a 'Top Rated Seller' and I probably send refunds 10-15 times a month.  (all for shipping charges for the people who don't know how to use a shopping cart.)

They aren't the free shipping items that buyer wants the discount.

Buyers are tell me there is no option to request an invoice.  These are fixed price listings.  I don't have IPR selected and have combined shipping in my settings.  I believe it's mostly international buyers as I had a US buyer request an invoice.  International shipping is just too expensive for both of us to have them pay and then refund.  This is a big pain.  Why isn't the request an invoice showing when they put items in cart?

I also have the Cart showing in my listings, yet yesterday, a buyer did not have the option to add items to a Cart. Note: He is in Hong Kong and uses a shipping forwarder in Delaware. 

He bought one item but stopped there because I was not able send an invoice so I could make adjustments for combined shipping.

No big loss, but frustrating for both of us.
