Only been a month and I've had three in 30 days cancel orders immediately, so they didn't ship out. They cost the seller money (ok it's only like 30 cents but still). Are you just accepting the request to cancel or do you ever decline? I normally don't even contact buyers that do this and just block them, but this last one I had finally had it. Reached out and told her basically, "mistake purchases" aren't an excuse and those mistakes cost us sellers money.
But seriously, how do you handle these? Just go with it and cancel and don't even slap their hand and make them feel like the inconsiderate me-me-me buyer that they are?

What would be the point in denying a request to cancel, when you know the next step would be that the buyer would think of a reason to open an item not as described case the moment the item was received?

Exactly. The buyer requested a cancelation for one reason or another and I would have no desire to press the issue. Simply cancel.

If buyer asks to cancel you cancel unless item is shipped already.

Better to just accept cancellation. Otherwise customer can use EBAY Money Back Guarantee (supersedes your "no returns" policy) by claiming "not as described, defective, counterfeit" (you are forced to refund purchase price) plus shipping BOTH ways.

I just cancel - don't put the buyer on my BBL, or anything. I'm just glad we don't have Paypal anymore glomming onto our entire processing fee, is all.
However, for a few categories I do not ship out for one day (menswear and computer stuff) because of cancellation problems, but I'll still cancel for them if it hasn't shipped.

i wait till the last minute to refund them and block them. if they have to wait a few days to get their money back maybe they might think about it next time they do it, maybe, but probably doubt it.

Just allow it
Nothing good comes from forcing a buyer to take something they don’t want
Could even be EBay showing them better deals after the sale

I just cancel.
Life is too short to drag it out.

If you don't accept their request you will end up having to deal with a return. It's always disappointing but part of the game

It depends. Buyers need to live up to their contractual agreements. That includes those contained in the UA to which they have agreed when signing up to use the site. They have agreed to pay for what is purchased on their account.
Personally, if the item hasn't been paid for and thus hasn't been shipped, I would tend to cancel the transaction for them and immediately block them from bidding or buying any items on any of my accounts. However, in the case of an auction I might consider how the cancellation would appear to other bidders. Especially if there had been any serious competitive bidding while the listing was active.
Of course, the use of filing a NAD upon receiving an item which one had requested a cancellation on would, I believe, be abuse of the MBG unless the item was truly not as described. Unfortunately, eBay doesn't offer much in the way of defense for sellers against false NAD disputes. Pity, there was a time when there was, at least, the pretext of an investigation. But I suppose integrity just isn't what it use to be. Of course, refusing to agree to cancel a transaction on request may be just a useless stand, but "if one doesn't stand for something they will fall for anything" or so I believe the old song goes.

I hate that nonsense too, I don't get how you make a "mistake" purchase. And while I feel like, you bought it, it's yours now...
If they really don't want it, they'll just file a nonsense reason to claim the item isn't as described or is damaged or whatever to force the return because they don't want it, and it will just cost you more money and aggravation in the end anyway. So I just cancel it and block them and move on.
However, I feel that if a buyer wants to cancel, THEY should have to request the cancellation, and once the seller agrees, the seller should be refunded that 30 cents. Because why are we paying even one cent because somebody else is a moron?

If a buyer wants to cancel, I cancel the order.
I'd rather cancel, then have a buyer damage an item, then have to pay to have the damaged item shipped back.

"But seriously, how do you handle these? Just go with it and cancel ..."
Yes. Easy -peasy. End of story.

Yeah.......don't send snarky remarks to the buyer that wants to cancel. And don't get buttt hurt over it. And definitely don't send them an item they don't want.
Cancel the order, put them on your BBL, and forget about it.
There are a million reasons for a buyer to cancel an order, but you shouldn't care what that reason is and it shouldn't bother you......just cancel it and block them from doing it to you again.
Look at it this way......when a buyer purchases an item it is theirs to do with as they wish, including giving that item up or returning it.
