How are everyone's sales this October?

Our sales are unusually low. Anyone else? Listing Christmas items this week and trying to get into the Holiday spirit. Anyone else?

It's below average but not off.  A lot of people are worried.  I go on vacation for the month of December so in 6 or so weeks I'm on vacation mode.  I look forward to that break every year.  I always need it.  Things have been extremely stressful this year.  Ebay has been causing me a lot of distress as of late.

Sales are very slow. September was down 27% compared to last year. So far, October is down 49% compared to last year. Heck, the way I am going I will be down 100% by next month. 

I am doing markdowns, order discounts, and repricing to try to get things moving. It very well might be the items I am selling are no longer as popular as they once were.

Not so hot.  A few good days and then nothing.  Something needs to change soon.  People are cash strapped and need to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm busy this month, but I'm shutting down tomorrow night for a 3 week break.

I don't really sell many Christmas presents, so my busy months are January-March. I did 2.5x sales in January than I did in April of this year. So January is what I'm looking forward to (when it's too cold to go out and everyone is inside working on their collections of stuff).

He can't use the coupon if you sent offers, it's either/or.

I don't do coupons very much since I often give better discounts on certain items than a coupon would offer, I'm also afraid someone would be upset they can't use a coupon and offer at the same time.

I had to circle a large parking lot for quite a while before I found a spot when I was shopping today - I think everyone is in the stores because it's a line for the cashiers pretty much everywhere I'm going lately.

Was in Costco this morning at 11am. Zoo City.

Glad I was only headed to the Pharmacy. My wife made that run earlier in the week, bless her heart.

I am not a big seller by ebay standards, but I have made more sales in September/October than during any other months this year.  It just depends what you are selling, I guess.

The worst October yet, I have a sale on everything in my store this week and can't even give stuff away.

I have a few days when I think it's back to some kind of normal, and then nothing for a while (which could be one day or several).  Not like it used to be, the more people figure it out, the stronger the "headwinds."

Only one sale in October, impressions and views go down despite I regularly end/sell similar.

Sales have been awful all year seems like every year. I haven't sold enough to pay my bills the last 6 months and seems like i just sell something in time to pay my ebay store and they take the money.

This year has been very strong.

Usually my busy period is late winter- Boxing Day to March.

In 2024 sales have continued strong throughout September.

But.

I have had a few weeks when I sold only one or two items a day.

And those followed weeks when either I was closed for a few days for personal reasons or when I was not listing due to a lack of new material or laziness.

And that continues.

The first week of October was strong on this account, less so on others where I have not been adding new material.

The second week has been one third of the first, probably because I was not listing during the first week, preferring to do a few final edits and submissions to various publishers.

On the slow account I got a surprise sale the first week which led to two more sales of similar items this week.

When we list we get more Visibility in Search.

Not to be picky, but could presentation be part of the problem?

I understand why some parts are going to be rusty, but maybe by cleaning those decorative showy bits like hood ornaments or lights it would make the item seem fresher and more valuable.

I became a top rated seller plus in august and ever since then my sales have been WAY off the normal. I never had a day under 50.00 in over 20 years now its every other day. I did better when I had 3 day handling and WAS NOT TOP RATED and I have no idea why. I know its the economy a lot, but things I sold consistently -daily & weekly now take a month to sell.  I do see some competitive  sellers lowering prices to make sales below what I can do unless I want to loose money. Hopefully after this election it might get better once the right person gets in there.
