How are everyone's sales this October?

Our sales are unusually low. Anyone else? Listing Christmas items this week and trying to get into the Holiday spirit. Anyone else?

Sales have been inconsistent since of the start of the summer. I'll have one week good week and rest of the month barely moving inventory. Columbus Day weekend has historically been a solid for me, but this year not so much.

Meh. 

One thing I've grown concerned about is the new PL glitch when you relist or sell similar.  PL is essentially BROKEN right now for some of us.  This has been going on for WEEKS!  No fix. How long before this starts to negatively effect our sales? 

So I can't even update listings right now until this glitch is fixed.

Looking toward the future & this holiday season, I have chosen to downsize drastically!

My ebay store subscription renews in February. Gives me a few months to decide what the future holds. After many years of selling it just might no profitable enough anymore with market prices dropping, increased selling cost, competition, etc.

October has been so-so... averaging one or two sales a day.

But this morning I had an interesting experience.

At the start of the month I got an order for a somewhat expensive LP.  Buyer was extremely happy, left me very nice feedback.

He ordered another record from me a few days later.   So I sent him a coupon good for unlimited uses for the next year (20% off if I recall correctly).

I also sent him a message, letting him know that I had thousands of LPs that I had not listed on eBay and that if he let me know what sort of music he was interested in, I would be glad to make it available for sale.

This morning I woke up to find that buyers were looking at a couple dozen LPs.  So I sent offers on all of them.

Turns out the repeat buyer in question decided to let me know what he is interested in -- got about a dozen orders, all going to the same person.   Very eclectic musical tastes, from Motown to polkas to flamenco to German lied.

Not sure why he did not use the coupon... maybe he's saving it.

Part time seller with 300 items listed i've been averaging 1-3 sales a day.

     Just looking at eBay my sales by volume are about on PAR with last year at this time. From the bigger picture my sales on other venues are up about 30% by volume compared to last year.

I don't have any Christmas items, so sales run about the same every month. October so far, ~same as September. 

I did a repricing project in August to make sure everything has a chance to sell and items that have been out there 1 to 7 years are still moving well. Have not been listing new items and the old stuff has been picking up the slack.

It has cooled off here in Texas. Caught a 25 limit of catfish yesterday and taking the son-in-law out tomorrow to get 50 more. Letting eBay ride it out this month with no new listings. Spending time on the water.

Chugging along. Have sold out most of my Posh closet and am getting ready to close down here.

Online sales, across the board, have been as awful as in the heart of summer.  Expected much improvement.  It did not happen.  1 miniscule sale all week.  Best of luck to all.   🙂

I usually do good with Christmas seals and Christmas postage stamps during the holidays. I posted them early....none sold yet.

Things picked up a little today....October so far has been nasty...lucky I have repeat buyers.

Been listings items every day promoted with no results. 

In my category, too many sellers are selling junk that will never sell...some of these seller's items are not even worth a penny.
