How Do I Write Ads in New System?

Well... I finally got the new "ad format" page... and I'm not thrilled.

How do you write a new ad?  When I click on "Create Listing" I get a page with picture of my old drafts and the heading "Start Your Listing" and a space to type info.  So, I type in a book title... and nothing happens.  Type in the word "book" and nothing happens.  A small x appears as soon as I start typing.

Also... does Ebay still have the "About this Product" option?  How do you get the "Ebay provided description?"

I've been using the "sell similar" to work around some of this... but surely there must be a better way.
