We have been running our store for a little over 24 months now and find eBay is a very buyer friendly market with discounts and status based on feedback from the buyer. A very low percentage of feedback is provided even on a perfect transaction. How can I encourage buyers to finish up by leaving the desired feedback and raise our percentage?

If I were to look at your feedback as a buyer, I wouldn't have been concerned at all about the percentage or the one negative, but that follow-up would make me move on.

Hi,
Feedback is voluntary. About 30% of buyers leave feedback. I wouldn't worry about it. Just be sure to offer superb customer service and the feedback will follow.
One thing I do not recommend is asking for it. Many buyers don't like being asked. I've heard of negatives being given for it.

I would not recommend responding to a negative by using derogatory comments towards a buyer.

I agree with the others. Calling a buyer stupid in response to a negative feedback is what would turn me off from from making a purchase. Not the amount of positive/negative feedback you had. A simple "tracking shows delivered" would have been sufficient. Feedback is voluntary so if a buyer wants to leave it they will.

Increase your sales and that will increase your feedback.

Sell more and pray!
It's not advisable to dun buyers for feedback as you may get the red kind that you don't want.

I agree. Future potential buyers will see that, and may choose not to buy there because of that. They will hit the back button.

I would not suggest that you send emails requesting FB. That could easily backfire on you. Sometimes buyer just don't want to take the time to leave FB and others may not be completely happy, but will not hurt your FB as they will just deal with it. But if you start asking for the FB, you may get it and it may not be what you hoped for.
Your FB percentage is not bad. Increase your number of listings and hopefully sales. The more buyers you have the more chance of increasing your FB. But as others have said, calling your buyers names is really not the best business approach if you want to continue selling or promote return customers.

That poor “feedback horse” has been beaten so many times it’s a wonder it can still stand. You have received 525 fb and left 497. As stated about 30% is the norm these days and you are at 95%! What could you possibly do with 526 that you can’t do with 525? Count your blessings.

I don't think I was beating a horse as you stated. I thought this was a place for questions and answers for newer eBay users.

I agree and it was a rookie mistake to respond in that way. I took it personal instead of professional.

It happens. You were upset, and it can be hard in those circumstances to not take something personally. They say it is often better to cool off before posting feedback; this gives you time to compose a professional response that won't reflect poorly on you.

Hi, Just keep doing what you are doing !! Your feedback percentage compared to total sales on EBAY is fine. Unfortunately it takes a YEAR to clear out all negative/neutral feedback!! Which I BELIEVE is unfair to all !! Just ( 1 ) negative will lower anyone's feedback regardless of the amount of sales they have below 100%. Don't worry about it !!
