Did you mean:

Hope I'm not the only one sharing negative feedbacks from buyers

Just got a negative from yet another lovely ebay scammer

Spoke with ebay of course as they read from their "script" we can not remove negative feedback

That story is getting pretty old. Here's the situation

I made this item for he Luxor Hotel when they opened in early 90's. I never had one single one "break" or "bend" as they buyer says. I would have an eye here or there fall out (bad glue) We sold approximately 2,000 pieces of this item in 4 years.  I found a stash of them awhile back and started listing them.

I've sold quite a few - I had one small problem with one of the cords not being exactly the same as the picture and sent the buyer a whole new rig. They were happy.

On sept 13th this guy messages me

Think he meant bent - regardless - I replied that a buyer should never attempt to "fix" anything that arrives broken or bent or whatever. I actually think there is some kind of guideline about the buyer manipulating items. Anyway I told him that and simply asked for a photo of the item. I would have resolved the issue right then and there - either sent him another or refunded his money. We all know you can't fight city hall around here no matter how hard you work or how honest you are. I just asked for a picture. Every danged person on the planet has a danged cellphone now. Simple matter - just show me the damage.

I hear nothing from him.

Today he leaves me negative feedback.  There was never a dispute filed - he never replied - zip - zero - nada - nothing.

So with an unblemished feedback record this one will probably screw up my whole xmas selling season. Why does it always happen this time of year? And the stinking thing will sit there for the next 12 months because one can do it and ebay just doesn't care. Seller truly have no value here.

Hey Dazzlecity -

I'm with YOU! I totally get it! I am so sorry you had to cross paths with this buyer/scammer!

I also am especially sorry that you have this unfortunate, frustrating thing happen to you, and you come here to vent, and you just get more frustration piled on you!

Just ignore SOME of the other responders, who no matter WHAT,  will always take an opposite view:

Not a well thought out response to feedback: IT WAS TRUTH, so not much to think about...

Be polite to the buyer: SERIOUSLY? Simply asking for a picture is somehow impolite?!!

I could go on and on, but you get the gist...

I for one, think you have lovely items, with beautiful pictures, and I'm hopeful you will do well at Christmas time!

Here's wishing you much happiness and lots of sales!

You know what? This forum is supposed to be about helping people.  You don't help people by being a yes person. You help them by pointing out things they could do differently. It's not disrespectful to suggest things they may have done better.

I still think it is never appropriate to call people names in public. It's one of those most important things I learned in kindergarten kind of things.

cool - my feedback doesn't show how many items I just cow down and refund their money to them - it doesn't show how many times I make other concessions to buyer - you need to see the bigger picture that doesn show up. it also doesn't show the same thing about my other id

This clearly shows why you cannot act out of frustration when dealing with buyers --- you had 75 sales in the last 4 days with prices from $10 to $200 --- and now because you decided to "take a stand" you have a negative --- or as it is known these days "a bad buyer experience" --- which, unfortunately,  will affect your standing in the short term

When I read the feedback --- "item came bent not silver broke in days; my loss" --- I see a buyer who expected a high-quality Silver pendant for $20 --- which, of course, means it could easily be straightened since Sterling is malleable

Yes, I know you never mentioned Sterling but you must remember we are in the era of "Chinese Sterling" being sold everywhere for mere dollars

Guess the only thing you need to answer is the age old question:  If you had it to do over would you do it differently ???

There is no doubt negs hurt.  So sorry, OP.

One won't hurt you unduly and it will sink further and further as you have sales, as you know.

Don't let it get you down.

Re: Hope I'm not the only one sharing negative feedbacks from buyers

Was gone all day to my real job - made some money - met some great buyers and pretty much had a great day. When this baloney here happens I take a different outlook when I'm working at the B&M and realize not everyone was is a jerk. Especially when the buyer in question has a questionable background. So I am moving on but my position has not changed one little bit regardless of how many of you think I was wrong. Right is right and wrong is wrong. I did absolutely nothing wrong to simply request a photo of the damage. I didn't dispute his claim - I didn't request he open a return case - I simply ask for proof of the damage. I don't think that's an unreasonable request. I've done it before with other sellers in the past and as soon as I get it - bam their money is in their account. No questions asked. No disputes need to be filed. So could it just be the criminals are the ones that refuse to comply? And it hurts that ebay doesn''t even entertain the idea that this one tried to scam me. Hopefully the rest of you can move on just like me. Had so much fun today not sitting at home slaving over ebay that I think I will take a week off. I know ebay won't miss me which is just fine. Going to venture back out into the real world.

Re: Hope I'm not the only one sharing negative feedbacks from buyers

It never ceases to amaze me just how many sellers post excuses for lousy buyers that couldn't give a second of consideration to a seller if they were paid - and many of them are.

ebay has ingrained fear of the buyer and terror of the dreaded 'bad buyer experience'.

Enjoy the week off!

The buyer did NOTHING wrong! They didnt even ask for a refund. They simply left bad feedback for an item that arrived broken.

The seller attitude of "every buyer is a scammer" is getting old. The OP lost nothing but a little pride, and frankly, they could use an ego downsize.

My apologies --- when I sorted your 75 sales by "Date listed: oldest first" I thought it would bring up sales from oldest to newest

Looking at the "End Date: Recent First" I see this is from the last 30 days

As for the amounts I decided to do a quick total of the 75 sales (OCD in action) --- came up quickly with an average sales price of $39 in the last month (I subtracted $3 per item for shipping)

I know this isn't dead on but it is fairly close ...

Uh huh, yeah, right.

I agree, they didn't ask for a refund - they didn't ask for a partial - they didn't do anything but email the seller with a complaint and then, ah, wait.  Think about it.

Re: Hope I'm not the only one sharing negative feedbacks from buyers

I often email sellers when I get something not as described. I tell them what was wrong and how to prevent missing things like that in the future. I guess that makes me a scammer.

Re: Hope I'm not the only one sharing negative feedbacks from buyers

Leave bad feedback when the seller was uncooperative? So what? The buyer had every right to DEMAMD a return, the seller had no right to DEMAND photos, only that her item be returned in the condition in which it was received.

The OP earned this neg IMHO but hey, to all y'all who think every contact about broken items is a hustle and all buyers are lying scammers, good luck selling. Eventually your paranoid delusions that you can do no wrong will end your eBay careers

If you have a problem with your purchase, do you write, complain, and when the seller tries to help, neg them?
