Hey eBay...

I am sick and tired of getting 2-4 messages per day!!!

Top tips for selling your items on eBay

There are eyes on your item! Go for the sale.

These are the messages I've gotten from ebay in the past week. I don't want or need your "recommendations". You know SQUAT about selling on ebay. If you did, you would be raking in the fees and not feel the need for a bogus 4% fee "punishment".

To be fair, any advertisements are legally supposed to include an "opt out" link.

I believe even eBay policy says that all emailed communications should be related to a sale.

I once opted out on a few of the persistent emails.  Yes they eventually went away, but then my spam doubled and even tripled for a while.  These companies share addresses, so I am wondering if they did it on purpose because I tried to get rid of them.

We need a way to opt out of their spam **bleep**.

Someone from "Microsoft" has called me at least once, may be multiple times daily for years.  I can either get my blood pressure up over it, or when I hear that beep, simply hang up.

Same with card holders services.

I no longer give them the satisfaction of it getting to me.

I get a lot of spam emails.  Just got my usual one for male enhancement drugs, or all the beautiful women I want.

Just delete them without a second thought.

Careful, "Microsoft" is probably a scammer. I've never received a call from them. I'm hoping you knew that since the quotes were there, but just in case! lol

Most definitely a scammer.  Calling me to say there is something wrong with my computer when I am using it and having no problem.  Not taking no for an answer when I tell them to stop calling

Hope they never find your phone number, but if they ever do, tell them you do not own a computer.

I did it with one of their other scams and told them I did not own my house (we do) and thankfully they never called back.

There may be an “unsubscribe” at the bottom of the EMAIL, but there’s no way to “unsubscribe” to the constant bombardment of unwanted MESSAGES.

As far as I’m concerned, they’re just as bad as the URL Title SPAM that appears in this forum every morning. Worse ... cause there’s no Report to Moderator to make it go away, Forever.

@Anonymous

Why is it that I’m unsubscribed from ALL promotions & marketing garbage from eBay, and yet I still get this incessant SPAM in my Message box from eBay? It’s unwanted, NOT helpful at all to me or my business, and accomplishes nothing but create even more bad feelings toward eBay than I already have.

Make it STOP ... or give me an opt-out so I can make it STOP.

Re: Hey eBay...

The worst thing is they send them at 2am and wake me up! They must think the entire world is on California time zone, 3 hours earlier. If they have to send these, it should be at a reasonable time when people aren't sleeping. I often mute my phone, but sometimes I can't for personal reasons.

Do you have the box checked next to Seller E-Mail Promotions? Unchecking it is supposed to stop all of those messages, but it also means you won't get e-mails if there's a listing promotion.

For me it would not be worth missing a promo, ebay bucks offer or percentage off my order deal.

Just use what you want and disregard the rest.

If the seller's fees were lower, we don't even need the eBay bucks.  I used to buy more items before eBay bucks, before the sellers raise their prices to pay for the increased fees, and before the raise in postage price.

With the current structrue, eBay does not need to help sellers increase their sales volume.  they get their fees regardless from the extra fees charged for sellers who does not meet sellers performance, from store fees, from changing the rules where sellers are no long top rated sellers, ect.

I do not look forward to all the seller updates.  How many people really have the time and energy to keep up with it all.

Re: Hey eBay...

When sales are low or nonexistent, my patience and tolerance for these types of spam messages is also low or nonexistent.

The incessant messages, the emails, the calls, every single day, some from this venue but also from so many other places, all scream of desperation.  And that desperation is a reflection of how I feel when there are no sales.

And that makes me want to yell and rant, too, out of total frustration.

They do include an unsubscribe link. They even tell you at the bottom of the message why you're getting the message so you know which settings to change in your preferences. Below example is opted in to general e-mail promotions.

Hi @hioctane62, you can unsubscribe from emails like this directly within your account settings. While logged in, select this link to access your Communication Preferences. From here, scroll to the bottom and select Show in the Promotions and Surveys section. Lastly, uncheck the box next to the subscriptions you no longer wish to receive.

Please allow up to 72 hours for this to process and if you happen to have more than one eBay account, be sure to take these steps for each.

"source these items that sell!"

Someone posted one of those to an ebay group today.  It was for knockoff counterfiet sunglasses.  You unsubscribe, you are going to miss all the fun.  /sarcasm

Again ... this may work for EMAIL but it does not work for MESSAGES.

How do I OPT-OUT of getting this spam in my message box?
