I have an item listed under "GLASSWARE" and the price is $42.50 If you put the description in the search engine another one pops up and the price is $79.00 and there are 24 "Watchers", then when you scroll down there is another one for $68.00 and no "Watcher" and then scroll all the way to the end of the items listings and mine doesn't show at all??? I checked all 3 and they all have the same entry in the "Item Description" and they all have the same category selected??? I have looked at all 3 entries and there is no explanation why the first item has 24 "Watchers" and another one that is asking less has no "Watchers" and my item that is $36.50 less than the highest price doesn't show at all??? bubba

What is the item, and how are you searching for it?
Often, eBay will steer a search into a particular category based on the keywords used. If your item is in a different category, it will not appear in that search unless the user waits for the results to load, chooses "all categories" and searches again. Not many users bother to do that, so it is better to list your item in the category that the search is pointed to, if you want it to appear when using those particular keywords.

My question has more to do with an item more expensive with 24 watchers and the fact that an item for less has no watchers and my item does not show at all???
It could be as simple as the length of time the other listings have been active.
More time = More Watchers
Your item doesn't show at all?
It can take up to 24 hours for your listing to go live to view.

frankly, the other listing could be "better" than yours............we can't tell anything unless you give us the item#
watchers could well be other sellers, but those indicate "interest" in the item......versus no interest in yours......
in some things, to some people "expensive" means better......cheap means poorly made or not desirable.....

how does anyone explain an item listed directly under another one (same search) and there are 24 watchers for the expensive one and no watchers for a cheaper one?
Not all users are performing the same search, or using the same search sort criteria.
Even if the actual items are identical in all respects, there may be differences in seller reputation, differences in the amount of time the listings have been available to watch, or differences in location that make one or the other a better deal to those particular watchers. One item may be in a different category or more easily found in search with keywords or item-specifics, or may be sponsored so it appears higher in more search sorts. The seller may have other items that are desirable, and the watchers may prefer to buy multiple items at once.
