Help with obscene content on my landing page

I collect small press and independent comics.  For some reason, ebay thinks that small press comics are pornographic comics and plops those right on my eBay home page as suggestions - definitely not the comics I collect or would buy.  These comics should be in the adult only category.  Comics that I DON'T want family, friends, work, or my kids to see when they pop up everytime I go to eBay to shop for "innocent" stuff.

I have reported these comics multiple times for needing to be in the adult only category, but they never get pulled...  Thank you ebay "SMART" suggestions for this vulgarity.

Does anyone have suggestions?  Report has done nothing and I don't want to go with a new account to get rid of it (this is a posting ID, my real buying/selling ID is an account from 1999).  I'm pulling my hair out.

If anyone wants to see what I'm talking about, search Hellina Boundless or Unholy Boundless.  Then pick the ones without the post it notes covering half of the front cover.  Please note - these are graphic.

Thank you,

Just want my home page back

If they are covered up what is offensive?

I'm referring to ones without the post it notes.

Re: Help with obscene content on my landing page

Think of an act a certain political figure was accused of participating in while in a Russian hotel room.  It does get worse from there.  I'm not bothered by Bikini -type covers.  These are full on nude covers with the nether regions explicity drawn.

Sorry, I can't relate to being offended by "nether regions".

I didn't really look at them all that closely. It seemed like the ones not censored had clothing. I did see one with a side shot.

Don't mind me. I'm rabidly anti-censorship.

LOL I'm trying to be PC.  I'm not offended by them - just offended that they are on my landing page where passerby could see them, including my kids.  These comics have a special adult category that you have to verify you are 18 to view. My landing page has no such verification.

Since you are responsible for your kids, the best you can do is position your computer to where they can't see it.

If it works, sell it. If it works well, sell it for more. If it doesn't work, quadruple the price and sell it as an antique.

Why are you posting with 2 accounts?

Re: Help with obscene content on my landing page

Accidentally posted with my real account instead of posting ID.  I have self reported thread.

Before it goes poof -

These listings were suggestions derived from eBay's algorithm.  I buy small press comics - this just means a boutique comic with a low print run.  One of 1000 of these small presses sells the risqué comics.  EBay's algorithm chose these to be displayed on my landing page.

Obviously, my kids won't see it - but I shouldn't have to move my computer either.  I'm just trying to point out eBay's algorithm is showing porn on a public page when it should be gated in the 18 year old verification categories.

What happens when a child says to their parent they really want a teddy bear for their birthday (or some other child's toy item) and the responsible parent decides to buy it on eBay and with the child sitting there at her side (so the child can select which teddy bear he/she wants) the responsible parent simply signs on to eBay, as the OP did, and "adult content" items are right there on the screen?

I've never clicked on any of the items that require permission to view, nor have I ever seen any offensive content (especially on my landing page) so I can't really know what it's like.

I'm also anti-censorship, but if it was right there before my eyes every time I signed on, I probably wouldn't like it too much either.

I thought someone had to click on something (in this case, possible adult meterial) to get additional suggestions related to the same/similar items that eBay shows people?

Ahhh ... please ignore my first response.  I didn't realize the nature/type of  comics you have listed on your page.

Re: Help with obscene content on my landing page

i agree , it does seem that stuff gets shoved onto the pages that just shouldn't be-- and should have a delete or "not something i an interested in'...as much as i don't like or use Facebook much...They have that on the ads... where you can stop some...but more come....

i found ..I search and look at stuff that will then take the place of those..like pyrex bowls..or my own listting..ha...  checkm out my store..then you'll see good kid stuff...shirts , jersey...

Ok i got to throw in an AD in for my stuff...

Re: Help with obscene content on my landing page

All comics I sell are clothed.  They are the bikini type.  Nothing worse than what you see at the beach.  There is no nudity and no sex.  They are allowed to be sold in the regular categories.

The comic eBay shows me (just in the last 2 weeks) are completely nude with anatomy fully drawn.  One prominately features a golden shower.  Another oral sex.  These comics are required by eBay to be listed in the adult only category, gated with adult verification.  eBay is advertising this on the main page.

Re: Help with obscene content on my landing page

Why would you even go to the home page? I haven't been there in years. It takes forever to load in this format, and is filled with useless 'suggestions'.

Imagine all of us here who help and view lots of different things we have no intention of buying, but do because we are trying to help someone?

Re: Help with obscene content on my landing page

It's been happening for months now!  Brought to the attention of the ebay mouthpieces here during a weakly chat; Mr. Burke well aware of the issue as well.  ebay maintains a "no moral stance" on the posting of such material, proclaiming they are acting as a "lusting..........uh, I mean listing agent only".  Guess they really have no clue where that stuff ends up, outside the confines of the yummy adult only category.

Would suggest elevating via weakly chat (today), tho not sure what good it would do, seeing ebay obviously doesn't consider an issue like this important enough.
