Help with obscene content on my landing page

I collect small press and independent comics.  For some reason, ebay thinks that small press comics are pornographic comics and plops those right on my eBay home page as suggestions - definitely not the comics I collect or would buy.  These comics should be in the adult only category.  Comics that I DON'T want family, friends, work, or my kids to see when they pop up everytime I go to eBay to shop for "innocent" stuff.

I have reported these comics multiple times for needing to be in the adult only category, but they never get pulled...  Thank you ebay "SMART" suggestions for this vulgarity.

Does anyone have suggestions?  Report has done nothing and I don't want to go with a new account to get rid of it (this is a posting ID, my real buying/selling ID is an account from 1999).  I'm pulling my hair out.

If anyone wants to see what I'm talking about, search Hellina Boundless or Unholy Boundless.  Then pick the ones without the post it notes covering half of the front cover.  Please note - these are graphic.

Thank you,

Just want my home page back

All comics I sell are clothed.  They are the bikini type.  Nothing worse than what you see at the beach.  There is no nudity and no sex.  They are allowed to be sold in the regular categories.

The comic eBay shows me (just in the last 2 weeks) are completely nude with anatomy fully drawn.  One prominately features a golden shower.  Another oral sex.  These comics are required by eBay to be listed in the adult only category, gated with adult verification.  eBay is advertising this on the main page.

Some of those comics are vile, and I'm not a prude at all, nowhere near.

I agree, those comics should be gated with adult verification at all times.

Re: Help with obscene content on my landing page

I'm thinking because you reported them-which means you have to click on the page to do so-ebay thinks they are something you're interested in and that's why they're showing up. I think there's a way to clear recently viewed items-there may even be a way also to choose what you see on the home page.

If you are getting the home page automatically when you sign in, hover over the My eBay at the top right and choose one of those options. Then after signing in, you'll go directly there instead.

Re: Help with obscene content on my landing page

Have you considered using a plugin like AdBlocker that allows you to block specific content by keywords? You could probably figure out a way to omit the undesirable titles or publishers from being rendered in your browser unless you choose to pause the plugin. It won't work on other people's PCs but if it's just the family PC that's the issue it might be worth a try.

I do not envy your plight. You are paying for a service, and people shouldn't be seeing THAT garbage and associating it with your name.

Since you are responsible for your kids, the best you can do is position your computer to where they can't see it

For the Love of God - How is this statement helpful? Being responsible for his children is what brought him here in the first place! SURELY there is something that can be done rather than your asinine and condescending suggestion. THIS IS A PROBLEM - I have seen it also - getting pornographic suggestions for non-porngraphic searches. That is EBAYS problem - the poster is trying to find out information on what he can do to relieve himself of it! - Not get useless, empty advice.

And worse yet, who on earth gave your remark a "Helpful"?

Re: Help with obscene content on my landing page

There is a way for you to fix your problem. Go to your home page then click on account tab. From there on the upper right corner you can change your home page to any of different options you choose so you won't see dirty comics.

Sorry, I can't relate to being offended by "nether regions".

I didn't really look at them all that closely. It seemed like the ones not censored had clothing. I did see one with a side shot.

Don't mind me. I'm rabidly anti-censorship.

I went, I looked and I saw.  It's fairly obvious I'm not a prude, but there are comic book covers that well... aren't covered with "things" getting ready to enter them or "stuff" spraying out of them.  There is a place on eBay to post these sorts of graphic graphics and modern age super hero comics isn't it.  These belong in the adult material section.  From what I saw, it appears to be one main seller who needs a little bit of coaching and counseling on where his wares belong.  I personally would recommend reporting them.  They have no place on anyone's landing page.

I have gotten a few unmentionable listings that I objected to...good thing my dogs weren't looking. And the kids are grown and gone...BUT...I hated it!

Re: Help with obscene content on my landing page

Not sure exactly where you are seeing that, but assumed it's one of the "recommended for you" carousels on the eBay home page?

If so, see here:

http://community.ebay.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Your-Recently-Viewed-Items/m-p/27295652#M30581

That's the basic approach using Adblock Plus with Firefox to zot "recently viewed". To get all the "recommended for you" carousels in addition to "recently viewed" use this this brute force rule instead:

ebay.com##body>div#mainContent>div[id^='items_list'].hl-standard-carousel

Takes out the 'daily deals' block also. (can see no way offhand to not do so since it's the same type of "container" as the "recommended")

To take out the "recommended for you" but leave "recently viewed" and "daily deals" needs 3 more specific rules instead:

ebay.com##body>div#mainContent>div#items_list2.hl-standard-carousel
ebay.com##body>div#mainContent>div#items_list3.hl-standard-carousel
ebay.com##body>div#mainContent>div#items_list4.hl-standard-carousel

will work as long as they don't shuffle the stuff around.

Re: Help with obscene content on my landing page

Me also my child was looking for Beano annuals and was confronted with a multitude of Italian nude women in various positions hands where they should not be, completely nude, and disgusting stuff all over them. If this is eBay now they should be  ashamed. It is NOT FOR CHILDREN SO eBAY STOP PLACING THEM THERE AS SUGGESTIONS FOR MY CHILD TO BUY!!!!!!!!  Not only is it full of this stuff it is saturated with Chinese sellers a good 90% to 99%.

Who the hell is in charge of eBay it does NOT say much for their moral character.
