There seems to be a rash of this type of issue lately as threads have been popping up.

If uploaded on time but no carrier scan is what theyre complaining about and you shipped as soon as you got paid - I bet I know why you are getting those warnings. Take a good look at your tracking. Your PO scanned it promptly when they got it but the listing says In Possession of USPS and not 'Accepted'. The word 'Accepted' does not appear anywhere in the tracking history. So if Ebay is actually looking for the word 'Accepted' or 'Acceptance' or any other variation of that word - they will never find it and you will never get credit for validated tracking.

My items have been getting the "In Possession of USPS" event scan for many months with no issues of failing to show a "carrier" scan.

Yeah...just curious but I suppose nobody here has the inside knowledge and if they do they're not going to share.

I know, I know...and have previously posted on the topic.

Its an easy topic to research. I learned that negotiated rates can be as much as XX% lower than resale price. Of course postage is a commodity like everything else. How much would you guess XX% is...39%? 70%?

It sticks in my craw that 1) ebay claims they negotiate for better rates for sellers when the truth is they get the same rates as other entities that deal in the same volumes, and 2) ebay claims that they directly pass those savings on to sellers, including comm +, when the truth is ebay marks up and resells postage. Selling postage is a substantial moneystream for ebay.

Talking about moneystreams, how much more do sellers pay for return labels issued by ebay than ebay pays for those return service labels? Return service rates are published.

Negotiated rates are not published, but some smart folks figured out ballpark figures using public data to know how much stamps com pays.

I'm also getting dings for items arriving on time, but customer picks up packages at their P.O. due to high theft in their neighborhoods and its not scanned until they pick it up and that is 4 or 5 days later after it has arrived..

Yeah - I noticed that when I went to leave feedback for a seller. It didn't ask if it arroved on time, but it actually did - 'the available for pickup' should equate to the 'delivered' status, but it seems someone changed the rules. That's just so wrong on so many levels.

I sent a message to my seller telling him he probably needs to call ebay to get this fixed. It's not the sellers fault that I didn't get to the PO to pick my packages 'fast enough' - especially since mine now closes at 2:30 pm.

Just so I've got my mind right...ebay takes a cut 1st and sends the rest to USPS?

Oops.  Bubbleman.  Tracking numbers are not allowed, for some strange reason.  You might want to self-report your post to have it removed.

Sure they are. They've been posted here since forever.

Sure they are. We review tracking histories here all the time. There's no identifying data in them beyond the City and ZIP of origin and the City and ZIP of delivery.

Yep.  I am completely aware of that.    I posted one.   Once.   Can I PM you?

Yes.  I am completely aware of this.   The one I posted also had no personal identifying data beyond the city and state and zip.  That info is also available in all listed items ... at least the ones I click on to see where the seller is located.    Can I PM you?

I may be imagining this, but I am almost certain that in the past, a "blue" has posted that when an item gets an "available for delivery" scan such as at the Post Office when it won't fit in the box, or needs signing for that it would be counted as arriving on time by eBay.

Hi @bubbleman2010, I recommend you visit your late shipment report page to review the details of recorded late shipments. The tracking number you initially shared is related to a transaction that was considered on time. Any transactions you have that are recorded as late shipments will be displayed on your late shipment report.

Our Seller Center has additional information about on-time shipping that I think may help clear this up for you. You only need to a) ship the item out within your stated handling time, b) provide confirmation that the item was delivered by the end of the the latest estimated delivery date OR c) have your buyer confirm that delivery was on time. Any one of these three components will be recorded as an on-time shipment. If you have account specific questions, feel free to contact Customer Service for further assistance.

Hi @buyselljack2016, happy to clarify that any form of attempted delivery or indication that the item is available for pickup would be considered as delivered. We would be able to protect a seller in an item not request request if we were asked to step in.
