I put together a short video for my About Store Page.....it's not really about my store, it's just a musical slideshow with photos of some of the Santa stuff I have for sale....and I screwed up the intro, it was supposed to have some text at the beginning, and instead it's just black space. But, for my first time trying something like this, without a clue as to what I was doing, I think it turned out OK.
What do you guys think?
Has anyone else done a store video?
And, no, I don't think buyers are flocking to the Store's About page, but as time goes on that will hopefully change. And doing this sort of thing is a nice break from the regular ebay routine.
Oh, link to the About page: https://www.ebay.com/str/mycottagebooksandantiques#tab1

Thank you for that info. Being a new product we are of course starting from scratch so any directional assistance is obviously very helpful.
And again I want to emphasize I wasn't criticizing the limited seasonal appeal. I understood it was a test on your part. The question simply revolved around what a generic year round video should look like.
Thanks again for the info.

To create a video like the UrbanNecessities video, you'd need to decide on a script and storyboard the shots just like creating a professional video. But that gives you some idea of what an introductory video could look like, as opposed to my little slideshow thing.

@richard1rst No problem, I didn't take it as criticism, just wanted to make sure people understand that you can change the videos at any time, and it's easy to do. Some people will make one video and likely use it forever, and others will want to have a variety of videos.
The Urban Necessities video obviously showcases both the store and the seller himself. I suspect some sellers won't want to film themselves, but others (especially younger ones) will be more comfortable with that, having grown up on social media. But I think a lot will depend on the nature of the particular business.
I've been asking ebay to provide us with more examples, and more guidelines/suggestions , but I think the details will be up to each seller....

Very nice! Very festive! I sell used automotive parts, I'm not sure I can make that look so good!!

I just watched your video and it's awesome! Did you supply the music or was that ebay? Wishing you continued sales and Happy Holidays...I may have to try this myself. Aloha!!

You have some cute Santas!
I think showcasing some products, as you did here, is a great use for the store page video.

@ckimodog The audio is a royalty free clip I downloaded from a website. (You need to be careful about the rights to music, so I made sure this was royalty free) ebay does not supply any of the video components, they just host the videos you create (and they must approve them before they go live)
I had fun making this...hope you have fun making one, too. Happy Holidays and Many Sales to you, too!

@creativecrisis Thanks! There are a lot of approaches a seller can take with the video, I like the showcase and it was an easy way to get my feet wet trying something new.

@vintagecraze50 Thanks. I used canva for the slideshow (free account version), downloaded the royalty free music clip from the Web, and used the free Open Shot Video Editor to add in the music.

So, clicked your 'items' and then an 'item' and then 'visit store' and saw nothing about a video. If I have to click something else; nobody will ever find it or see it to click it and see it.
Seems like a complete waste of time (ebay fault, not yours)

Thanks for the tip!!!!

@stainlessenginecovers Good point. The new store design is VERY new, and I think it will take a while before buyers (or even most sellers) realize this even exists. And of course, it is entirely possible it will never catch on with sellers or buyers. Only time will tell.

This is really a great thing to do on here. I went searching after reading up on my store page how to do this stuff. I actually tried to download a free Magisto app but my darn IPAD is so full I cannot download it. I have to buy another IPAD anyway since the one I use now I cannot been download an update, But when i get the new one I am going to put together something for sure. This is just a beautiful and pro way to make your store look fabulous.

@vintagecraze50 Yes, I think if this catches on---with sellers and buyers---it will definitely help sellers---those who want to---to "brand" their businesses. Of course, a small seller of used odds and ends, like myself, is never going to be a brand the way Coke is a brand, but even a small seller can benefit by developing a return customer base.
