I've read a few threads in this forum over the past week and noticed a handful of sellers mentioning counterfeit items being sold on eBay and how it might be affecting their sales this holiday season. I noticed some of the items I sell, specifically Norelco Replacement Heads, being sold for an extremely low price. I did a few searches and feel the amount of counterfeited replica items has definently increased since I had last remembered.
The listings use both Philips and Norelco brand names within' the title and descriptions and also use an identical box that the Genuine OEM head is packaged. These are also being used as the main image for the listings. The main purpose of this would be to deceive any customer into thinking they are receiving genuine parts. One of the sellers even says the word "Genuine" within' his title that you can see here:
I'm pretty sure using a Brand name anywhere within' a listing or image for a non-genuine product is against policy... is this correct?
It wouldn't phase me much but it seems this really has been affecting the sale of these items as they are being sold for a fraction of the price and there seems to be dozens and dozens of sellers/listings doing the same thing, both Internationally (China) and within' the US.
Overall, would hope for some advice or input on this matter and hope this is at least something on eBay teams radar.

Inform Norelco that their products are being used as clickbait for generic products. (I'm sure there is a more appropriate way of phrasing this) Norelco would need to become a vero member (if they're not already) and report. Ebay will only act on reports from the rights holders.

Theres a report button on every listing, but dont expect Ebay to do anything about this as you will be seen as just another seller trying to knock out the competition.

That seller is from china, using another sellers watermarked photos.
Multiple reasons for reporting, but we will see those reports ignored because .... ebay loves china!

I think it's leveled off, hovering at around a trillion dollars a year. With ebay, Alibaba and Amazon having the distinction of being the largest counterfeit brokers in the world.
My advise is to write your congressman. What's happening, what's allowed to happen is an International tragedy.

Unless you are in a transaction with that person or have some special connection with ebay, do not waste your time reporting. Nothing was ever done with the last 2 I reported which a 5 year old could have seen it was a stolen listing.
And with counterfeit it is your word aganst his, and if you happen to be a competitor then you will be considered a disgruntled one.

Actually, it's not a matter of using a brand name within a listing. Counterfeit items are illegal so if any item has branded markings or logos but wasn't made by that company, it's illegal. And even if the seller lists it as "fake," claims not to know whether authentic or even if he avoids mentioning any brand, it doesn't matter.

Isn't that an oxymoron? Aren't all counterfeits just replicas?

Chinese sellers get a pass because fakes ARE legal there.
Counterfeits aren’t allowed regardless of where the seller is located.

southern sweet tea is right.
Reporting to the original manufacturer is the way to get action of these listings.
These companies are usually very grateful that someone has pointed this out to them, and they do take appropriate action promptly; Ebay listens to them.
No company wants their products and their company taken advantage of in this way.

That is true, I read that as well. BUT while fakes are not illegal there, they ARE illegal here, so I think it would be different if it were China selling to China, but not China selling to the US.
