eBay's at it again... Get 100 additional listings for only a nickel each!

Once again eBay is offering 100 EXTRA LISTINGS for ONLY 5¢ EACH! BUT there's a catch...

To get the 'deal' you MUST blow through ALL your remaining FREE listings for the month and be stuck paying full price to list items OR not list for TWO of the last FOUR weeks before Christmas.

If eBay want's to do something for us sellers make this offer the last week of the month.

The freebies are a data gathering survey by ebay.  Always have been.

ebay has been lowering the number of freebies to nonstore owners, so now they are seeing if we are willing to pay a small fee to list.

Since I pay the same amount on the site I am very successful on, I am willing to pay that amount to list - the question will become whether I am willing to do it on ebay.

I think that ebay will offer up another listing special before the end of the month, after all next month is the Chrismas shopping season, if the max number of listings should be on ebay - it should be then.

I just came here to post the same thing. It is the Christmas selling season, we need free listings!! Not $0.05 listings on the 15th of the month that require us to use all of our free insertion fees first.  This is the first "promo" that I have received in a while and it's worthless.

This promo might be worth while if you sent it out on the last day of the month.

Of course you have to use your 50 free first. Why would you want to not use the free ones and instead use the 5 cent ones ?

I am a store owner, and ebay has not given me any free or reduced-price listings for nearly a year. When I exceed my 1,000, it's ten cents a dance.

Because sellers won't be able to list anything for the rest of the month unless they are willing to pay $0.30 a listing.

But they already used the same 50 they would have anyway and now they get an addition 100. I don't see any problems with that. Ebay could just say forget it and just charge 30 cents for every listing all month.

One of my basic store IDs just got a 200 auction/FP promo (no insertion fees).

Haven't seen the nickel one.

I can't speak for everyone but I stagger my listings throughout the month. I list 1 or 2 items everyday. I do this so I always have a new listing and potential buyers may look at my older listings.  (Not always the case but that's what I try to do) as of today, I have 19 listings left, if I were to take advantage of this promo, I would have to use my 19 listing first. After the promo is over, I couldn't list anything for the last week and a half of the month.

lucky you...

when i had a basic store, i'd get a promo like every six months.

i guess Ebay realized i had no problem paying to list new items (when out of freebies).

seems i was penalized for it.

but i was not listing enough to upgrade to the premium store.

i had the inventory but didn't have the energy.

so i even gave up my basic store.

now i get plenty promos.

You would not want to use your free ones first because if you did you would have NO free listing left for the last 10 days of the month.

No listings from November 21st to December 1st! You'd be losing 2 of the last 4 weeks of the Holiday Buyer Season.

If eBay really wanted to help buyers (and make more money) they would make offers like this during the last week of the month. But this is the second time in a row that they've made this 'Great Offer' hoping to get in our pockets... 35¢ at a time. ☺

Holiday Buyer Season? That sounds like some script from a marketing manual. If somebody needs something, they will buy it regardless of the time of the month. And really, if 5 cents makes or breaks you, you have more important problems to deal with.

I would NEVER pay to list here, not even a nickle. If buyers can't find your items (can you say Cassini?), they can't buy your items. I'm waiting for them to PAY ME to list more items, otherwise, its not worth the work.

Best match was the worst thing ever invented. When people search for a "blue widget", that is what they want, not a "red thingamabob" (which with Cassini really happens!).
