Has anyone out there tried Pirateship.com for your shipping. They say their Priority mail pricing is cheaper because they use Priority Mail Cubic pricing.

I've seen a few recommend it on this Board.

Posting competitor information like this can be a quick trip to a board vacation.

Stamps.com also offers Cubic Pricing, as far as I know most Internet Postage Providers offer it....Pitney-Bowes is an outlier in that regard.

So far no savings for me, but I seldom have items that qualify for cubic shipping. We'll see what happens the next time I have a small heavy package.
For non-cubic Ebay labels are cheaper because of the TRS discount. Since USPS did away with the lower commercial rate (ComBase Plus??) PS is currently charging the same online rate as eBay for non-TRS sellers. TRS sellers still get a discount which prices it below the PS rates.

Pirate ship is no more a competitor than is Stamps.com. People are allowed to purchase postage wherever they want - Ebay already gets their 10% on the shipping fee.
OP - I use Pirate ship a lot to do cubic shipping. It's an easy platform to maneuver. Sometimes the prices on Ebay may be a few pennies less for First class shipping depending on what I'm sending and the location - but if you're able to use poly bags - you'll have an even bigger savings. I've shipped blankets, coats, heavy sweaters domestically as well as overseas and have saved as much as $8-$10 on international shipping.
You can always try it and if you don't like it - go back to purchasing everything thru Ebay or whatever site you use.

Wouldn't you suppose that eBay has negotiated Commercial Plus rates for all of the labels done through their platform? Those that get the TRS discount are a wash for eBay and those who pay commercial add to eBay's bottom line? just asking.

I had looked at it and am still thinking about it. I ship a lot of 8x8x4 boxes as 2 pounds. Is it worth it for something like that?
BUT I did not get the impression that they did international. The screen I saw emphasized domestic.
So I'll ask - do they also do international with same type of cubic rates?

I sell international and I had one going to Canada. It was $8.55 thru eBay's labels and $7.98 through Pirate Ship. It might not seem much but for my small margins, 50 cents is nice.

They integrate with eBay and send the tracking info to eBay just like all the other shipping companies.
Does that mean that when you go to ship a package there is a link that the buyer's name and address is already filled in as it is on eBay and Paypal? It would seem it does because how else could they send the tracking number.
But in reading their introductory page they did not make a big deal out of that which is one of the reason I have been holding back.

Virtually all the postage providers download orders from eBay, Amazon, Etsy etc. and post back the tracking to the source. Also pretty much all integrate with the standard Cart systems one would use on their own site.

Thank you. That was probably my biggest concern (not having to spend a lot of time manually entering addresses).
