Getting scammed by buyers, I'm done

I had a lot of successful sales with ebay back in the day. Never an issue. This weekend I decided to sell a couple of things that I didn't need anymore. They were both in perfect condition. Both buyers claim they received defective items.

The items were perfect, these people are lying. So now I'm paying shipping both ways for nothing. Done with ebay. Anyone still selling on this ridiculous site needs to wise up.

I really hope you get your original items back and in decent condition.

If you're telling the truth, that's just bad luck -- somehow, someway, I've gotten complaints before but I agree to a partial refund with my buyer/eBay closed the case in my favor.

Ummm ... why do you then still have eight things for sale?

@beaxch

"Condition is Used" is not a description of the item.

If sellers would take a little time and describe their items, they might see less INAD's.

Have a great day.

Re: Getting scammed by buyers, I'm done

A couple of thoughts: you're selling winter season stuff and it's pretty much spring, and it's get out-and-about stuff when people are avoiding that. May or not make any difference, just saying it might encourage those iffy buyers to change their minds. Also the shipping on heavier items never helps, smaller lighter things ting to stay, more, sold...

My sales have gone way UP since the shutdowns but my items aren't exactly essential. Someone thought the black string trees weren't black enough and someone else just ordered parts then realized they won't fit.

It's a hassle, but that's just the environment we are sometimes in. I wouldn't give up totally just yet. Good luck~

I have stopped selling also. The eBay fees, PayPal fees, are one thing but people can now send it back for almost any reason. The trouble with that is it can come back broken, changed out with a old one, even replaced with a used running shoe and eBay says zip.   I've sold a $900 camera lens many years ago, not now.

My customers have always been able "send it back for almost any reason".........but they don't! Haven't had a return that wasn't entirely my fault in many years.

Re: Getting scammed by buyers, I'm done

Selling on eBay now is different than the good ol days for certain. The platform is less a community than before. Ebay watches out for the buyers’ interests and sellers have to look after their own.

Choosing No Returns is every seller’s right, but in this eBay of today, it has some distinct drawbacks. When faced with a No Return policy, a determined or unhappy buyer will find a way around it. It is better to take returns than risk a buyer opening a bogus Not As Described case that can count against your seller metrics.

  Sorry for your bad experience.
