Getting a negative because USPS misdelivers to neighbor

I have a buyer who is upset that their mail carrier delivered it to their neighbor but scanned it as delivered to the buyer. The buyer eventually found the item next door, but also told me he will be leaving a bad feedback because of it and told he he doesn't know why I would ever choose to use USPS.

This isn't like a negative feedback claiming not received when tracking shows delivered (I know those are eligible for removal). I have no experience with it, but would the potential feedback be removable?

I'd not worry about what the buyer says  he/she will be doing. The buyer also 'chose' USPS, if that's how you had it listed, after all.

Worry about feedback removal when you get a negative. I'm sure you'll have it removed.

Block the buyer so you never have to deal with them again.

Report the buyer that might fall under feedback extortion:

I wouldn't want that person for a neighbor.... I'm sure who ever lives next door does not consider them a neighbor with that attitude.

Both the PO and UPS have left stuff with me on purpose when my neighbors aren't home to receive boxes.  One time it was huge vacuum cleaner and I had to find a cart to drag it next door after they got home (they're elderly).

Amazing...and not in a good way.  I had UPS delivery a printer toner to me that wasn't mine.  I called and they said they would pick it up---never did.  After about a week, I finally drove the 4 miles to the correct location of the address and delivered it myself.   USPS (until this recent attempt to sabotage them) has been great with over ten thousand packages I've sent and received.  Some people just prefer to be contrary.  Hopefully he will reconsider the ridiculous thought of giving you the negative.

Well,I would have suggested a reply like:  Sorry your package was misdelivered by the USPS, but glad you were able to find it at the neighbor's.  But it's evidently too old for that possibility.

I suspect that he's fishing for a refund without having to file a request. You could send a vague apologetic reply (e.g. "I'm sorry that your carrier delivered it to the wrong house, but I'm happy to hear that you have it now.") and leave the ball in his court. (My choice of wording for "your carrier" was deliberate. You want to steer his attention toward the fact that this minor mistake was local to him, not something you could realistically control.)

Unfortunately I don't think this falls under feedback extortion because they are asking for anything else. They are just telling me as a BTW.

Yea I agree. Only time will tell.

Depending on how he words the feedback, it should be an easy removal.

I had one that was about the delayed shipping time, even though it shows I shipped it same day of the order, and it was a quick removal just via the request feedback removal option.

I feel for you.  I have had constant problems with our carriers, just yesterday got a book meant for someone about half a mile down the road.  It happens here all the time, but I would never hold that against the seller.  Fed Ex had big problems last week, stuff was held up for 3 days.  Not the sellers fault at all.  Shipping is messed up ALL around the world.

Actually, I believe that FB is too old for the seller to reply, as I may have mentioned in my post.

Most likely, call CS after they leave the neg, if they even do.

I think you may be looking at a different comment. The OP says that the unhappy buyer hasn't left any feedback yet.
