Getting Killed with Insertion fees

Anyone else getting killed with insertion fees, I have a store & I am getting killed with these fees over the past few months, Never happened like this before, .10 per insertion but apply that to over 2,000 listings you can do the math, Why should I keep listing?

Re: Getting Killed with Insertion fees

Good grief. Would anyone really think that's a good idea? To end and sell similar that many times in a month?

Apparently so. I've seen a few threads the past year from people that saw a seller promoting that awful search visibility "strategy" on youtube. 🙄

I was thinking that initially, that the fees for upgrades (ie. 2nd category) were charged separately from the free insertion fee, but I couldn't find anything under fees that stated that. It just said you'd be charged an insertion fee for a second category, so logically you'd think it would just be an insertion fee charged against your free allotment.

@toomuchstuffagain35  the link @nobody*s_perfect provided in post 53 shows it pretty clearly.

Actually, yes. There are plenty of people who do just that.

Re: Getting Killed with Insertion fees

Thanks. That confirms what I initially thought, that it was considered an "upgrade" and charged at the time of listing.

Except the OP has said they only have a handful of listings that have two categories.

Re: Getting Killed with Insertion fees

I did not answer earlier because I have been extremely busy with many things,I will fess up to anything that is my fault, That is why you should never assume anything, I do take solutions seriously when they work for me, You however have never had anything useful to say to me, You just like making your comments that make you feel good & get your yuks, I am not pleading with CS, I am letting them know they made a mistake,You would do the same if your money was being taken in an unjustified way don't deny that. Some are 2nd category but most are not, Some are sell similar but again most are not, So know what you are talking about first before you start lending your assumptions based on no fact whatsover, It also shows how little you care about sellers when you find something like this to be funny & get your shucks & giggles off of someone else's misfortune, I didn't know we were in some children's playground, I thought this was suppose to be a mature forum, I guess I was wrong, As usual thanks for nothing farmall, Are you going to report me again for speaking up to you??

Re: Getting Killed with Insertion fees

I never have reported you, crybaby. Can you say the same?

There is a reason that you are being charged the listing fees. Either you are relisting your items more than your allotment given and/or those fees for the second category are adding up. I highly doubt eBay is just charging you for the fun of it. You are doing something wrong or not paying attention.

Every time you relist with the second category, you are going to be charged for it. How many times a week or month are you relisting your items? exactly how many items have a second category? Your answer most likely is in the answer of those two questions. As "unhelpful and unuseful" as you may find that answer, it is the only right answer. You are apparently doing something that you are not accounting for.

If only 10% of your items have a second category, that's 250 listings. 250 x .10 is $25

If you are not keeping track, that's hardly a problem for eBay. If you are not paying attention, that's not a reason to sling accusations at eBay for charging you when they have every right to. That you just won't answer the questions that multiple people have asked, only shows you either don't care or that you do not know. Seems like you are expecting eBay to sort this out for you. So, about this being a forum of adults.... Are you one? An adult takes responsibility for their own actions. If you can't answer the simple questions others have asked you, then you must not be acting like an adult either, huh? Your job as a seller here is to do your part. That means keeping track of stuff, following the rules, etc. It's not eBay's job to hold anyone's hand and tell them what to do. You could easily figure this one out, if you were keeping track of what you are doing. Apparently, it's too "adult" for some people to bother with.

Re: Getting Killed with Insertion fees

Did you ever look at your promotional offers to see how many of your 10k listings you used?  How much were you charged (total ten cent listings)?   I see a new listing with 2 categories and some without---were you charged for both or just the one with the second category?   Are you looking at the listing fees before you launch a listing to see if a charge is disclosed?

I just went back and reread everything you posted in this thread. Not ONCE did you answer any questions beyond the store size you pay for. If anyone has reading comprehension issues, you better look in the mirror.

Exactly how many listings are listed in more than one category?  "Few" is not a quantifiable answer.

How many times a month are your listings being ended and sell similar?

@fern*wood is also asking pertinent questions.

You are purposely being deflective at this point. If you can't answer those simple questions, then you already know the answer and you are just being combative. Again, just because you don't like the answer, it doesn't make it wrong. If you want adult conversation, then act like one. Answer the simple questions, even it it means you might actually have to do a little work to find the answer.

Notice how when they "answer" they don't answer anything? Purposely combative and deflective......
