Here's your chance to voice your opinion. I'd appreciate it if before you describe why you dislike GTC you begin with NO WAY or if you're one of the very few who has no issue with it please start with OK. It just makes it easier to see what the percentage is.

If I have an item that got 2 views in 30 days because ebay hid it - it's not the right season - the price was wrong - I need a better description - whatever I'm ending that piece. I'll relist something else - something new. So if google had picked it up it's now a dead end right? Isn't that what ebay wants to avoid? So I have a premium store with inventory hovering around 950 items - if their all GTC and constantly renew how do I keep sorting out the dead wood and adding new items? Answer - I can't. I am now forced to end those listings to add new product. What about seasonal things? I think this is all going to be a big PITA. Still wishing for the middle tier between premium and anchor - Castle - disregard that last sentence - I know you know.
Let's imagine that 50% of sellers here had a 80% STR, that would mean those links on Google would be dead ends most of the time anyway because they'd ended by being sold.
The only links that would remain as leading to live listings would be the MQ listings with deep inventory.

How can you blame poor sales on the new GTC only duration? It's only been a week.
I don't blame it on GTC, I blame it on Ebay. Sales wern't exactly booming before GTC, or for the last decade for that matter. Let the downward spiral continue

NO WAY!!
I'M LIVID EBAY KEEPS TAKING AWAY THE CONTROL OF MY BUSINESS ALL IN THE NAME OF THEIR INTEREST ONLY IN MAKING MORE IN FEES OFF SELLERS!!
IF I HAD A LISTING EXPIRING ON LET'S SAY THE LAST DAY OF THE MONTH AND, I HAVE NO LISTING CREDITS LEFT, I WOULD WAIT A DAY TO RELIST.
UNDER THE NEW POLICY, I HAVE NO CONTROL WITH REGARD TO RELIST DATES; SO, EBAY RELISTS MY ITEMS ON THE LAST DAY OF THE MONTH AND MAKES MORE FEES!!
THAT'S **bleep**!

Although I wish ebay had left fixed price listings as before, what is the point of all the comments from people getting all riled up about it? It is what it is. Deal with it, as it isn't going to change.

No Way
You are taking away my decision as to when I relist an item.
Should be my decision not ebay's. Now I will have to keep a closer eye on when items end, etc.
Makes more work for me.

I believe I read they've also changed their algorithms.
GTC can certainly reduce your sales, if you get a lot of sales (like I do) in the
"ending soon" period. GTC listings are never "ending soon."
Then there are people who both buy and sell, who are so disgusted with GTC that they're leaving eBay like it's a sinking ship. Those people won't be buying any more either.

"The biggest problem with GTC is the sellers who do not know its uses and benefits. Some sellers love relisting every single item month after month. Makes them feel like they're working hard."
This statement is demeaning...…. Please

This is incorrect, as has been pointed out many times on this Board. GTC listings are treated same as 30 day listings when it comes to "Ending Soonest" search. Also, as the 30 days winds down, if there are watchers, ebay sends them a notice that the listing is ending. Technically, GTC listings "end" and then "auto renew"......but they DO have an end point.
Getting a bump in ending soonest sort is not the same thing as getting a bump in best match as a result of the listing being in the last portion days of its duration as 30 day fixed price listings always have. You have just repeated a completely misleading talking point that ebay has been using. When asked point blank about that ebay lies and when asked about sellers who primarily sell one offs and how GTC will hurt them ebay also took the misleading route making a statement that the algo wouldn't penalize items that are only stock count of 1 however completely ignoring the part of the algo that concerns views no sale/positive sell through rate. Sure, no item is being penalized because it is a single item, it's deplorable that ebay feels people are dumb enough not to see through this answer.
To date there has been no announcement by ebay that the algo has been changed in any way to mitigate damage caused by the forced change to GTC to sellers of single items. Nothing the blues say in these forums is credible, they simply talk to support the narrative, and you could literally take 5 minutes to pull examples from these very forums that prove that.

NO WAY
I prefer a choice. GTC is good if you have a lot of multiple item listings. I don't. And I hate that now I have to take the time to go through my listings and end any of them that will renew in less than 24 hours. I have to watch them like a hawk now. And I HATE that.
I don't have a store. I have 100-200 active listings at a time, rotated around my 50 free listings and promos. I used to be able to let my listings expire and relist when *I* wanted to and had free listings available. I know I'm going to have ones relist and then either have listing fees or all of my free listings will be gone for the month on listings I didn't want to relist yet.
Why can't we have a choice? There is NO reason whatsoever for Ebay to enforce this except that they think THEY will somehow get more money - for unsuspecting sellers who don't know their listings will relist and stick them with FEES. I'm super annoyed about this change and stressed that it will really mess with my listings if I am off the grid for a few days.
And I don't like auction format; I much prefer buy it now and can't get my money's worth if I have to relist every 7-10 days.
