Not looking for advice, just sharing 🙂
Got an offer for an item I had listed at $175 for $125. I declined and told the buyer the best I would do is $150 ($20 off). They responded with an offer of $130. I declined and at that point removed the Best Offer option and lowered the BIN price to $149.99. I then get a phone call from the buyer saying asking for my "best price" which I explained I already offered them. They then went on to complain about how much shipping costs and demanded I lower the price saying they needed it at below a certain price etc etc and that they would "buy it from someone else" (I know they cannot get it cheaper, ANYWHERE) so I told them nicely that they are welcome to find one elsewhere for less but good luck in doing so. They bought it for $150 but I would have rather not have gotten the phone call to be haggled with that was a bit unnecessary IMO. What do these people do at the grocery store or at the gas station? My goodness pushy pushy.

Sellers made that choice not Ebay. Ebay has never once told me I cannot sale used items at flea market prices. Also there are no other sites like Ebay to haggle for used items. If you do not want to haggle you can always list at fixed price immediate payment. Yes Ebay allowed big stores to join if they choose but never once said small sellers, or used items sellers, or flea market sellers could not join. Sellers came up with that crazy concoction and decided they wanted to be independent real stores trying to compete with those big boys wiped many of them out. The rest of us that stuck it out and continue to use Ebay as it was when it started and are doing fine.

I call bull on a lot of what you said - Ebay pushed for immediate payment - Ebay pushed for promoted listings - Ebay took away our options of accepting other forms of payment. I've been here 20 yrs - I've seen all the carp that's gone down. I've continued to survive and sell here but Ebay made it hard for many small sellers to survive here.
I'll defend Ebay if what someone said is wrong and Ebay is not to blame - but I'm realistic - they've turned this place from the once major player - to one that's now only a minor player.

With increased fees, ship costs and promotions - sellers can not afford to give their items away any longer. I do not go into a B&M and haggle over the price - nor will I do it here. If a seller has BO - I offer a reasonable offer for them to consider - not 60% off like the offer I received today on an item without BO.
My aunt haggles in department stores ALL THE TIME! And she usually gets it too! BUT...she does PAY. She doesn't offer $20 on a $100 item but she does get the sale price that starts on Friday on Thursday night and will use 20% off ONE batch of skirts to get it on ANOTHER batch too. And she is SHAMELESS about missing buttons, belts, or any fixable flaw to get a discount!

It has always been a big yard sale for me but take my word for it, I have NEVER made this kind of money at a yard sale. Bigger market, no entire day wasted sitting in the heat and humidity for a dozen or so buyers to sell for 10 cents on the dollar. I do the community flea market a couple of times a year and that helps me clear out my slow-no movers. Cash is still nice these days.

I'm going to say that your aunt is one of very few people that does haggle in a store. I'll haggle on a car purchase - I'll use coupons and promo codes - but I'm not going to haggle in a B&M and most others don't either.

But if I discounted all 43 items here Currently by 95%....maybe my choices/chances would increase...so i feel i do have a CHOICE if this makes any sense....Having a bit less then a ANCHOR store and plenty of free listings to boot...the possibilities are near endless...correct me if i'm wrong...😂

Yes your Statement is True...Ebay Currently Owns less then 1% of the E-Commerce Market..Latest Known Figures are 000.8%...Thats a True Fact...Pretty Sad for once the place EBAY was KING and people came to Shop....Times always Change and we all have to Adjust...Good Luck to All!!

I would have probably just told them to buy it from someone else and put them on my BBL. I'm curious as to how they got your phone number to call you though? I didn't think eBay gave that out anymore.
