Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

It seems the option to revert back to the original listing tool is gone! I absolutely hate this new listing tool I cannot use it. I have sent so many messages and feedback trying to get them to fix all the problems. This is just awful, I don't know why they do this. Everything is taking me so long.

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

@carolynnq I know what you mean- nonsensical change for the sake of change.   Some of it might be chalked up to trying universal verbiage like changing "shipping" to "delivery"....... but then there is no consistency because right under "delivery" it goes back to domestic "shipping & international "shipping"

This company is just so disjointed that one dept has no idea what the next is doing.

But again the verbiage only annoys us....... its the actual real design issues that make it take 3x longer to list with that are the problem- like getting rid of the simple cancel button! on what planet does that make any sense?..... there is even a cancel button on this board !!!!! I can reply to post or cancel!!!!! simple effective and efficient.    Not one of those describe the new listing tool.

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

Took pics for a couple of days and now ready to sit down and load some listings. Could not stand the tool! Got one listing done but had to check it out to make sure everything was correct. It kept changing my box size! I'd change it to 11x8x6 and it would change it to something smaller! 3 x's I changed it! I can't do another one tonight! Really made me angry. I'm hoping that like you, I'll get used to it. It's taking forever to search for a category and I don't see yet how to opt out of one all together.

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

I hated the old eBay listing form. I am not sure if I would be able to distinguish between the old bad and the new worse. How could any socially responsible company contemplate adapting "smart phone" technology to dumb down the desktop computer experience? Too much is already lost by using a browser with remote storage instead of a real desktop application with local storage. Does eBay not understand that the seller demographic is likely to be older than average and less able to use painfully cramped smart phone keyboards? I am happy that in 2004 after TurboLister mysteriously lost some listings, I switched to Seller Assistant Pro in 2004. It would later evolve into Blackthorne and then SixBit. Because SixBit is based on Microsoft SQL Server, it was possible to build an application to import listings from Excel spreadsheets and avoid much of the drudgery of filling out listing forms. While SixBIt is far superior to any eBay "Sell Your Item form", past or present, Excel continues to be the application of choice. SixBit makes it easy to proofread listings and limit titles to eighty characters. It is also easier to fulfill orders, retain sales history and produce consignment reports. It is difficult to sell unique items on eBay, requiring a unique description for every item. Without SixBit it would be impossible

We are the test 'sellers' otherwise known as guinea pigs and unpaid 'trouble shooters' for Ebay 😊

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

I was able to go back to the old lister.  At the top of the page when I was working on a draft, there were three dots in the upper right hand corner.  After I clicked on them, it gave me the option to switch back. So happy!

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

That's good. enjoy it while it lasts- at some point they will remove that option for you like many of us.   Improvements and design changes are coming at a snails pace- all sellers want is a good desktop listing experience, not this this inferior mobile experience.. just look at the thousands upon thousands of post here about it.   I just wish ebay would take note and do something but I'm afraid they have moved on to the next shiny object.......

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

Same here.  The photos take forever to load and edit.  There are glitches.  Too many details.  When I change some things, the changes don't stick and I have to redo it.

Frustrating!!!  I send messages to ebay continually.

Tired of them using us as guinea pigs to trouble shoot their program.  Seems they have no clue what they are doing.

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

I couldn't even figure out the Variations, so changed my mind and made several listings instead.  It is that BAD.  So many glitches, redos, buffering and slow photo loads.  So many details invite room for error.  Who are they actually helping?  As a buyer, I want to see accurate basics.  Not hundreds of tiny details that may be incorrect.

As usual...no thought or communication with sellers on this albatross.

Good luck everyone!  Keep your cool...losing it isn't worth it!  Life goes on...with or without ebay.

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

If you have not figured out the UPC yet, you can scan it on the Front page of the new listing tool and it will fill in the fields for you. (At least it worked about a week ago!) What I can't figure out is how to do a product catalog lookup by name.

Hope this helps.

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

I got stuck with this pile this morning and, indeed, there is no way to revert it back.

My God it sucks.

Where the hell did the "New (Open Box)" condition option go? That condition is CRITICAL to my business...

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

ebay does not care that you dont  like it.     or that you liked the other one better.    they dont care if  quit.  and thats the sad part.  they are on the downward spiral because of that arrogance.

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

This new listing tool is beyond a giant timesuck especially when listing vinyl 45 records. Such a pita! I was finally forced into it today, and today might be the last day I'll be listing here.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Frustrated!

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

The new listing format is terrible. It changed today ....when just hours earlier was uploading the original way. Much like EVERYONE else I am not a fan.

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

My favorite bug...put in a UPC to find the product and say use...then it empties the UPC field upon return and when you say list it complains you don't have a UPC.  I have yet been able to use a product and have the UPC field be populated.

Why do they do this to us?

Re: Forced to use terrible new listing tool!

This listing format will not allow me to list a buy it now without entering a starting bid. What am I missing?
