Flo,
Couldn't agree with you more.
I called ebay support earlier today and was informed by the customer service rep. that she had already gotten five calls today (Monday) on this matter. The best thing to do in provide feedback by phone and the feedback link in the upper right corner of the selling page. Also, try not to list any FP items until the policy is changed. If ebay mgmt sees a 25-30% drop in their FP listings, they will likely reverse course.

ebay is turning into a socialist dictatorship. They constantly demand conformity, then put up road blocks everywhere that make it impossible to conduct business on their platform (inflated final value fees because buyers changed their mind so now its the sellers fault, forced GTC, forcing you to pay for visibility with promoted listings, etc), its just not good.
And ebay can't seem to figure out why its failing. Yet, every policy they put in place just causes them to lose more and more money.
The fees are too high, if they raise them any higher, this platform will fail.
ebay's messed up dictatorship will end up with the likes of Venezuela's socialist buffoonery, sellers wont be able to afford to buy toilet paper because ebay is too greedy to line its investors pockets with gold at the expense of destroying a decades old platform.

Yep, I bet this platform ends up losing millions upon millions of fixed price listings a month. ebay will pay a heavy price when they come to realize they not only alienated their sellers, they also lost hundreds of millions of dollars in the process.

One could possibly surmise that ebay might imagine that they have a rosy picture of the future. Managed Payments is going to be a benefactor to them - it has the potential of many, many millions (or more) in revenue - and should be kicking into a higher gear come summer. PayPal had been a cash-cow to ebay, but since the spinoff, well, not so much. Now, it is possibly thought, ebay's Managed Payments will be the replacement for PayPal, and they will be an 'independent', just like the payment service that is said to be working so well for the very successful site that ebay sold the 18% of, down in South America. Sellers with 'goods' - mundane, everyday thing. Buyers with Credit Cards - money in the bank. Anybody with credit cards - lots of money in the bank!
The foolishness of one's actions or words is determined by the number of witnesses.
Perhaps if Brains were described as an APP, many people would use them more often.
Respect, like money, is only of 'worth' when it is earned - with all due respect, it can not be ordained, legislated or coerced. Anonymous

I saw this yesterday while relisting 4 items through Bulk listing. My first three items (not sure if it was because it was in eBay motors category) gave me the option of 30 days, but the fourth, just a regular old household item, forced the "Good Til Cancel" option.
I tried to work around it, making it an auction, then canceling it and trying to sell similar...nothing worked. I called eBay and the hold time was so long most likely due to complaints around GTC.
As already stated MANY times, this is a MONEY GRAB for eBay. They eased into it by only giving this option on the mobile app and now they have totally gone to the dark side forcing it through the desktop version.
As a side hustle, I've generated over 1000.00 in revenue for eBay/paypal the last two years, gladly letting them have a chunk of my sales for exposure on the platform.
Why am I being nickel and dimed with GTC now?
If I list 150 items on Fixed price GTC in a month and only 30-50 sell (pretty typical), that means 100 X $0.30 insertion fees, or another 30.00 off my margin when they automatically relist.
I ONLY list with free listings as I only make 150-250/month and I feel like eBay is now forcing fees on the front end to go along with back end and transaction processing fees.
What a joke.

I agree!! I hate when they do this. I called eBay and they told me it was experimental and they would be watching this feed to see what our opinions are. I hope they change this back sooner than later!!

also gave them a call. Knew it was a waste of time, but I did it for me and for the community. I doubt they will change anything. They actually have a hidden agenda, they want you to have the listings moved at the end of the pages and use their greed money making machine, the so called ,,promoted listings". Do I need to get into details of how wrong it is at so many levels? Basically I am spreading a deadly virus and I will sell you the cure. It's extremely unethical. Why the hell to use the promoted listing tool when I am the only one that has that item in the entire ebay ?!? **bleep** ?!?!?

Call too and she started reading me the script, no no no, lady I've already read that junk. Nobody wants GTC yet ebay just slaps us in the face and forces it on us. I use to tell everyone I run my own business, not now, I tell them I work for ebay because I have no say so in how I run it.
Also their not doing anything with the feedback because they started GTC in Australia with this last year, if ebay was gonna stop with bad feedback it would have never came to US.

Ridiculous, I do list the same item 4 times in one month, so they cherge me 4 times, that way they will charge me only once. Brainies, you will loose 75% of relist fees you charge me, and, more than that cause if I am less visible with my products, I will sell less so you will charge me less on final fees, a 7 years old kid would catch it fast enough I guess...
I give 10K every year in all kind of fees, can I choose the way I want to do MY business ?
Believe me, tonignt I spend the night to look elsewhere to see how other platforms like Amazon and Etsy works...

I'm curious, why list the same item 4 times in one month?

Good luck. I called eBay to complain and posted my disappointment in an earlier thread. They don't care! The only thing I've noticed is that my sales are way down on this account and March always used to be a busy month for me.
