For those of you who block buyers...

Aside from those of you who say you never or hardly ever block buyers... would you block a buyer who files a return request over two months after receiving the item?

This buyer complains with the "defective item" reason that they just shrunk the hoodie they bought from me long ago. So that's a SNAD right? I'm well aware that I can decline it since it has been over 30 days since they got the item. Just wondering what people thought about this... just made me think if this is block-worthy.

I never block buyers who file returns outside of the return policy or buyer protection window, but I'm beginning to think some might be block-worthy on a case by case basis.

If it were my return request.  I would send the buyer a polite email saying they are outside of my return window and decline the return request.

Depending on how they respond to that would determine if I would block them.  If they are polite and reasonable in their response, I wouldn't block them.  But if they go off the deep end, I'd block them immediately.

^^THIS^^

The vast majority of people on my block list are people who show their tail here in the forum. The chances of any one of them making a purchase from me is slim to none, but I like to be proactive lol

I could never block someone just for making a request. I could very well block depending on their reply to my answer.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Yes, I certainly block buyers and pass the word around about them. I only have a few listings left on this dying site but I'm currently dealing with a bozo. The buyer purchased an item and after I shipped it and uploaded the tracking, demanded a refund via PayPal saying that "there's no way I'm paying that." Her complaint was that she didn't expect to pay the International shipping charge as listed. PayPal immediately closed the case in my favor (as her reasoning gave her away). Now after it shows as delivered, she did a charge back for an "unauthorized purchase". I expect to prevail again but it shows the lengths some go to pull off a scam.

Sorry about that. TBH though, thru my experience when a buyer files a chargeback for unauthorized purchase, there's a chance you won't prevail in the way that you think. Best case scenario that may happen to you is that Paypal will close in the buyer's favor, but because of Seller Protection will pay you back the money out of their own pocket if you have a successful tracking number.

So the buyer will never believe they did anything wrong since Paypal probably won't tell them anything aside from closing in their favor. They still would be able to leave you feedback, so watch out.
